I have a 21 ft. camper and a 2021 F150 (with max tow, etc.). I bought the trailer TPMS and camera (OEM) parts through the Ford dealer. Now, when it comes to installation, they say that they do not work on the trailers - so refuse an appointment for installing it.

I am not handy enough to do these things myself. Also, the main reason for the camera is to integrate it into the Ford console as an auxiliary camera. So, it is more than a matter of installing the camera on the F150.

Any advice where we could go?

Thank you very much!

any mechanic shop should be able to install it for you. I am also curious which part number you purchased, the last I heard they were still not available for the sync4, it would be nice to know they are in stock now

What did you end up doing?
I'm still searching for the camera/tpms kits, myself.

Can anyone confirm what options this is dependent on? If I buy a truck with MaxTow and 360 cameras, is the truck suitably equipped except for maybe switching out the rear 7/4 plug for a 7/12?

Instructions on how to do it on pages 4-5 with videos of it working. You’ll probably need to swap your truck smart-trailer wire harness.

Unless, you have a 2022 F150 with the Tow Packages.

My build (built in Dec) has the full wiring for Yaw, Trailer TPMS, Trailer Camera in the 12 pin connector on the truck. There are 9 pins/wires used.

On the 2021 F150 builds they only wired 2 pins to support Yaw Sensor.

Can you compare your 9 pins to the picture in the message linked below to determine which pins are missing from the picture? It's the plug from a SuperDuty camera harness which lacks the yaw sensor.

The 12 pin connector on my truck bumper has female pins in all 12 holes, so not sure that helps.

I don't have any cables that connect to that connector yet, as 2022's don't ship with YAW sensor any more, and I haven't order the Trailer TPMS or Cam.

Here is a pic of the back side of that connector (from under my truck). There are 9 wires. The 3 non-existant wires are the same 3 (position 7, 11, 12) that are defined as not used on the Super Duty's.

The net is the 2022 F150 has the 12 pin fully wired. 2 are for the YAW (I believe pin 3 and 4), then 12V power (for TPMS and Cam, pin 1), then 2 for TPMS signal (pin 2 and 3), the 1 for TPMS Gnd (pin 6), 1 for Cam Gnd (pin 8), 1 for Video (pin 9), 1 for Shield (pin 10, for Video)

I'm basing the pin assignments off this PDF someone posted in the SD forums. Again, I don't have cables or anything to try it with.

But GChurch in another post did the whole thing on his 2021 and documented with pics and vids.

BLofin is dead on, I should have included info he shared in my post. if you have a 2021 build f150 you 99% don’t have the correct wire harness needed. If you have a 2022 build (like BLofin) you MIGHT have the right wire harness that supports trailer camera + TPMS. But you need to stick your head under the hitch and take a picture of the harness that plugs in to the smart trailer connector (yaw sensor). If you only see 2 wires going Into the connector instead of the 9 (6 bottom 3 top) like BLofin picture above you will 100% need to swap your harness like I did. Good news is it’s easy, and if you aren’t mechanically inclined you can pay somebody else to do it for you.

From what we can tell it doesn’t matter what build options you chose/have. You’re either lucky or not.

Ford F150 2022 Larriat crew cab, max tow package
Hi All! New to the forum. My 2022 F150 has only the two wires going to the 12-pin. Are the other wires above the spare tire? I have the max tow, and 360 camera packages. The truck was purchased specifically to tow my camper trailer.

Some of us 2021s were specifically told our trucks could did this… auxiliary camera and trailer TPMS.
Is ford responsible for updating our wide harness if we can’t ??
