In case you have never seen where the Ford logo on the front of our trucks came from, here's something original from my family...

In 1933, my father visited Dearborn, Michigan and toured the newly constructed Greenfield village (which was started in 1929), and specifically the restoration of Mr. Ford's friend Thomas Edison's Menlo Park laboratory. While there, he encountered none other than Henry Ford himself. Mr. Ford was kind enough to sign my father's Menlo Park brochure. Here's the cover with Mr. Ford's signature. You'll see how close it is to the stylized Ford logo on the front of our trucks...

Ford and Edison were friends that would go camping with people like Harvey Firestone and Warren G. Harding:

This is very cool, I like history and heritage. I know to some they're just vehicles, but I like seeing how they came to be, their origins and how they stemmed from the tractor, a workhorse in the field. Pretty cool.

Awesome, That is so, awesome, for lack of a better adjective due to my lack of a good vocabulary.
Thanks for sharing, always cool when you can link things and people to unbelievable places in history.

Edison and Ford have had a long standing friendship/partnership. Man I wish I could listen to just one of their conversations. In shaver Lake area there is a water/electro damn that Edison works . Their parking lot is filled with probably over 250+ fords . Henry Ford had his hands on alot of things back then

I'm a student of industrial history (and recently edited the landmark book on the German industrialist Paul Mauser) so I find learning more about Henry Ford and his work fascinating. in the work on Mauser, I worked with two authors in Europe that have his original personal archives.

The heritage of our Ford trucks is something I want to look into further. My grandfather was a Swedish machinist who immigrated here in the 19th century. I guess metal and precision are "in our family bones"... That interest probably motivated my Father to approach Mr. Ford when he was in Dearborn so long ago.

This is my grandfather working in about 1915:

It's people like this that built our modern nation.

Just over three quarter century later, I carried on the tradition by working on computer technology.... Today, there's probably as much of that in our trucks as all the rest.
