My regular cab short box just fits and still allows access to my beer fridge. ?

It's a good thing you can park your truck in the garage AND access your beer fridge. What would you do if you had to make the choice between parking your truck in the garage OR having accessible beer? Hard question, I know.

That's an easy question to answer. The truck stays outside.

Sorry guys - had to show.

I have seen where the back wall has been taken out high enough to fit the hood inside a lean to out the back of the garage. Like a little addition added to the backside.

Did it fit?
yep, it’s tight but fits. First several times took me a while to park but now it’s quick and easy. The front parking sensors and camera helps.

Front parking sensors/camera is something I think I will always have going forward. So much easier to park in the garage now. For me the short box fits, I might be able to barely squeeze the 6.5 ft bed in there, but it would be no room for error.

Right now, the limitation is height on the door. F150 fits in, and I never worry about it. Was thinking of stepping up to the f250, but its a bit taller I think, and that would not work. I don't park my vehicles outside the garage, though practically all my neighbors do.

I wish I had a garage. At this point I would settle for a Carport. Previous owner converted the garage to an office and we've since converted it to a master bedroom with attached bath.

Even then, It would be tough choice which car goes in the garage, F150, Pontiac Solstice or the wife's new Explorer.

I have a feeling the Explorer would be in there....LOL

Parking in the garage is an absolute must for me. I have a bear that comes around and would probably rip the doors off the truck for a Snickers bar.

Luckily, the inset for my water heater is just in the right spot!
I put a coupe of pool noodles on the edge of the opening and pushed that cooler back a bit. When the pool noodle on the edge of the opening disappears from the front camera, I am good to go! :)

I noted in an earlier post my garage is 20 by 20, barely a fit, but was going to note about house prices. 6 years ago we remodeled and I considered moving my garage wall into the house by 2'. The wall is non-load bearing and would have been easy to move as we had the sheetrock off too. However - doing something as simple as that would decrease the value of the house based on tax rolls, etc. and ultimately a selling price. House prices and appraisals / comps are based on the living sq footage, they don't take into account garage space. Taking away 40 sq ft at $200 could be a bad $8K proposition - at least on paper.

You can also hang a tennis ball on a string hanging from the ceiling, at windshield height. When the ball touches your windshield you stop. I had to do this for my wife even though my garage is 34 feet deep.

My 157" fits in my garage with enough room to walk around the front and access the beer fridge and third stall work area!
