Whats supposed to happen when pressing the trailer control knob?

I have the steering knob. Same as my 2016. Except my 2016 steers the trailer.
My new 2022 does nothing. Even going in reverse I don't see the guidance lines. It's like there is no back up assistance at all. I have trailer tow package and it included the knob.
At least I want the guidance lines. Is there another package that adds functionality?

Pretty sure you need to setup a trailer in sync.

I've never used it and I have it too.

I remember when they first came out you had to put stickers on the trailer. I'd do a quick search in the digital owners manual.
Edit: yup one time setup needed.
