Does anybody know what purpose the black plastic piece serves on the bottom of the rear wheel well. Dainty like the looks of it..

I was told it was to help air flow around the rear tire/wheel.

I kind of figured it has something to do with air. Quite sure when mine arrives I will be taking them off.
thanks for the responses.

I took mine off a couple of weeks ago. They are held on with 3 7mm hex head bolts and on snap in clip. The clip is in a slotted that can be seen when removed. There is a solution to getting rid of the flap however. The Ford Tremor has smooth tim pieces without the UGLY flap hanging down .The Ford smooth replacement part numbers asre as follows ML3Z-99292A23-CA 1X AND ML3Z-99292A22-CA 1X. They are available through Ford Parts and also Amazon/Ebay prices vary from $8 to $12 dollars per piece. Well worth the price to get rid of that cheesey useless flap

^^^ I just tried the same thing, can't have nothing there, hole in bodyside and notch. Need to keep it or go the other part # which I am ordering.

No problem...I pointed it out as you were correcting and then you quoted me as I was deleting it since I saw your correction. We are both either too fast or too slow...not sure which.

I guess I should stop by the dealer and put a tiny dent in my FordPass points. Besides these fender things and maybe the RH swing out bed storage box I honestly can't find much to spend them on. Maybe just load up on filters and other supplies while I'm there...
