I just turned 3k miles and noticed I'm down a quart. I just want to top it off until I can get in for an oil change. I can't find anywhere what type of oil the truck came with from the factory other than 5-30 is on the sticker by the filler. Is it regular, synthetic blend or synthetic? Or, does it matter at all?

Thanks for any help.

Quick answer is , it doesn’t matter what you add to it so long as it’s 5w30 that meets the specs Ford requires in the owners manual (API SP) which is very common. The factory fill is a strange oil and some people believe its just a conventional blend Ford uses for only the factory. Mixing oils won’t affect a thing.

I have always used synthetic 5W30 with my 3.5EB.
