California, trips mainly are 75% highway / 25% city. Been running AC quite a lot. Seems a little low, but I never planned on good gas mileage.

I'm in Eco mode most of the time and do not drive it hard. Thought maybe I'd get 20 but... ?‍♂
Oh, and I have Tow Mirrors, which will likely have some negative effect on MPG, though I have no idea how much.

Those photos that I posted earlier were taken just after I purchased the truck on its second tank of fuel. I live at 6800 feet of elevation and town is at 5500 so these photos give you an illusion that the truck is getting awesome mileage. We also have a Toyota Corolla Hybrid that Actually DOES get awesome mileage

So far, I am beyond happy with the mileage on the PB. I do 80+% city driving, a lot of stop and go, and SE Michigan is just a ton of suburbs and traffic light to traffic light driving. As amazing as my 2.7L 2019 was on the highway for mileage, this PB is that and more in the city. My 2.7L was averaging about 17 or so because of all my city driving, even though I was 25-ish easy on longer highway trips. This PB is averaging about 23 with all my short trip city driving, and even mixed highway/city driving.

I only expect it will get better as this has been running 87 octane from the dealer tank, I just yesterday was able to get it at least half filled with premium from Costco, and the engine is breaking in still. Even if I wasn't seeing better MPG, this truck is just a blast.

So yes, these are short trips, but that is most of my day-to-day driving. In June we have a longer 300+ mile each way trip, will see how it does on that.

This was coming back from Ford WHQ for the Lightning reveal event. So mix of city streets, highway, and suburb.

I think this was coming back from Costco yesterday, so as with most Costco trips had a couple hundred extra lbs in the bed and was also a mix of highway (73 MPH) and then suburb/city driving getting home.

Here’s is the weird thing…
I only have about 1200 miles on my Powerboost, and had been getting about 21 MPG. The day I hit 1000 miles I drove about 90 miles to an event. On that trip I got 24.2 mph (per the computer). The trip home was in a reasonably heavy rain, but little wind and I got less than 18 MPG coming home. Since then I am back to about 21 MPG again…

From a recent trip to Steamboat. Drove there/back and includes 6 days of around town driving as well. Very impressed with the truck so far.

Wow! I would be so happy to equal that production with my new powerboost. Hope to get it next week delivery. Excited.

Yeah I’ve been recording most of my recent short trips around town. I’ve been blown away with the mileage because it’s all stop and go city driving with traffic and stop lights and the rest, stuff that would ruin mileage on my other trucks. Yeah they are short trips, but that’s the bulk of my daily driving, especially right now. With that I’m thrilled. The last one below where I got 26 MPG was at 5pm during rush hour. I mean, this destroys my expectations.

Who is getting dramatically improved mpg after the last OTA? I’m seeing 2-3 mpg increase mixed and close to 1 mpg highway only

looks like there’s much more acceleration allowed in electric only mode now

I now have about 4K miles on my Powerboost. To date over that 4K miles, the average is about 18-19 MPG. That includes three trips to Tahoe and one to LA, each of which includes some serious climbs. Over the last tank I got about 19. I drive to maximize mileage, with a light foot and usually in Eco or Normal. On the highway I cruise at 71-72, and I’ve used premium most of the time (though it’s shitty CA 10% Ethanol).

Overall, I’m somewhat disappointed. I expected low 20s average. Even during small trips to town, I often get 15-16 MPG even though about 20% of the miles are electric. I’m not sure I understand why my mileage is so much less than what everyone else seems to be getting.

Do you have any mods on the suspension or bigger tires?
