Not trying to hypermile but also not driving like John Force also and got these numbers when I filled up today. This truck likes summer temps.

Still waiting on Ford to do my buyback. @Ford Motor Company

Curious oddity I encountered is that I started to put in regular grade Instead of premium and my MPG increased 1-1.5 MPG.

Transmission shudders like crazy now but guess I'll deal with it while having lower fuel costs.

My wife drove it 500 miles north then back. 8 MPG there and 12 back. Crazy bad.

One other question, does anyone else have a leak or carbon buildup of the e haust directly under the drivers ers seat e haust pipe? I have been repeatedly told this is by design but that doesn't seem right to have a purposeful exhaust leak under the passenger cabin. If not mistaken isn't that against US laws due to harmful toxins and potential CO2 buildup?

I have 850 miles on my powerboost and averaging 24.0 mpg going 5 over. I am driving fairly easy for now, but on ramps are a different story.

I am curious to know what folks are getting for MPG for around town and for any highway trip in the real world. I don't expect that towing would see any improvement over the 3.5 Ecoboost, but lots of us buying these are getting them in hopes of overall improved mileage.
It really depends on the driving. In non hwy, I can easily get the 23 rated, sometimes will hit 26; but on average, a combo of both Hwy, non Hwy I seem to average around 20-21. Hwy mileage is very dependent on speed, above 80, and it drops below 19. I haven't driven that much hwy, but the only significant distance was 250 miles, and a good portion was 80+, ended up around 19 MPG. I have a 4x4 super crew with the 6.5 box. That being said, I'm happy with it considering the size of the vehicle.

Here is my updated story.
1. Ran it stock only for a few weeks with 18" wheels and stock Goodyear all terrains - could average 23mpg and up to 25-26mpg with perfect conditions on the highway at 70mph with occasional braking to kick in electric. Straight hwy cruising I'd see 22.5-23mpg. Don't remember what my average per tank was but I'd guess 21ish.

2. Swapped the tires for 33" General Grabber ATX SL rating so gained some weight there but not as much as E rated tires. Lost about 1-1.5mpg overall and my average per tank dropped to 20mpg. Mostly around town driving with a lot of short trips.

3. A few weeks ago I removed the active air dam and trimmed the valence to just below the tow hooks. I added 1.25" wheel spacers as well so the tires poke a little more and add some wind resistance. Lost another 1mpg hwy only. Barely changed around town where electric kicks in and wind resistance is not as much of a factor.

On the highway going 70mph I get 19.5 - 20mpg now assuming no electric, braking, etc. From tank to tank I'm getting 19.5-20mpg with a lot of short trips and not much highway. Plenty of stop light to stop light driving with trips less than 6 miles.

The truck looks much more aggressive now and better than stock, but no doubt my mpg took a hit.

I am about 2 months & 4500 miles in on my bone stock 2022 XLT 157" 4 x 4. I do drive like an old man, because that is what I am. Once in a while I get a horn or a hand signal because I am driving the speed limit, no doubt holding someone up who wants to go faster. But I am getting great fuel mileage. My fill-ups with 87 octane 10% ethanol regular gas have yielded 25 - 28mpg hand measured. As it sits right now, the truck has averaged 26.6mpg since I have had it. As it wears in, it is going up ever so slightly tank over tank. Last time that I filled up, it registered 830 miles to empty on the full tank. Suffice it to say, I am very pleased with this kind of mileage.

Been driving it fairly easy and so far with just 300 miles on it the truck is reporting 23-24 mpg mostly city driving. That's about the same as my tuned '20 Ranger was getting which is what I was hoping for. I'm sure it will improve a little once it's properly broken in.

Redding to Bakersfield and back last weekend. Cruise set at 82, AC blasting as it was over 105 degrees. Varying headwind, tail wind and significant crosswinds. 22.1 mpg. That’ll do.

4500 miles & 2 months in with my XLT 157” 4x4. I have averaged 26.6mpg overall with my best 500 mile tank getting 28. It is slowly going up, as it wears in.

This is what I was getting. It flips over every 10000 km. Driven from December 2021 to the end of August 2022. It was a 501 lariat with a 6.5 box.
