Folks following this thread might find this just-posted video of interest. The F150 is a XLT PB and the owner, who has a Youtube channel some/many of you view on occasion, was shooting for an around-town mileage of 30 mpg.

Jack
I watched this yesterday and just thought to myself, that is EXACTLY the kind of thing I thought I would be doing! (trying to hit 30MPG or so)

I have yet to hit 24 on any single trip but I am not giving up.

I've only had one trip that registered 25.1 MPG and it was a short in neighborhood drive. Otherwise, I seem to get somewhere between 18 and 21.5 MPG on every trip. The truck seems to prefer normal mode vs. ECO, at least that's where I seem to get the best indicated MPG. It's certainly not blowing my doors off in the MPG department, but the performance is nice. It's also returning about 4 MPG better than my prior 2018 3.5L Lariat 4x4 FX4 in similar driving conditions. I'm sure as it warms up, it will help a little bit.

Right now I am at 18.3 for the life of the 200 miles of the truck, but I am pretty sure the dealer was heavy on the accellerator for the 40 miles they had the car. When I picked it up I was starting at around 12 mpg and it's steadily gone up from there, so I think I am probably close to 20 or above. I plan on resetting the counter when this tank runs out and trying what it does with 91 to see if there is any difference.
I did not reset the lifetime counter when I filled up, but instead started a new counter on trip 2.
That gives me that particular fill up mileage while still watching the lifetime one creep up.
I have the Coyote, and the lifetime mileage is till creeping up, albeit slowly and Trip 2 is still higher on average
Also, my math computes to 1mpg less than what the truck is telling me.
Currently on my display 19.1 on lifetime, 20.5 on the current tank

Ford will not send an engineer out because of Covid. They are playing phone tag. My truck has been in the shop three days last week and so far three days this week. They are going through the wiring system trying to find out the problem. I told him I had to have my truck by this Friday. We will see how that goes.
lemon law, get a new truck

I got 33 on the hwy and 38 in the city........

Just joking. I dont care what I get. My 2013 6.2 raptor got 15mpg, so anything I get is better. I buy a truck to work in, although I buy fully loaded trucks and only keep them for 2 or 3 years then get a new one and sell my old ones. If you are interested in good mpg buy a fully electric car or get a bicycle. it should not be that be of a deal 2-3 miles different from epa

Things are looking up. This was 10 plus miles, combination of around 7
miles hwy and 3 miles city. Using normal mode and doing the speed limit. 60 mph on hwy and 40 mph city.
I like this,. Regular gasoline 87 octane. Next week is premium week.

For someone who doesn't care, you seem to really care enough to post in a thread specifically about milage lol.

Ok so after seeing the video linked above and the course he used to get the 28MPG or so, I thought well maybe the trick is to do similar city driving, 30-40mph, with some stops and slow downs. I took a very flat sea-level route and was able to achieve this. I used Eco mode and may try Normal in the future. At one point I had it above 30 at nearly the halfway point but my final turn was blocked due to construction and I had to enter the freeway! That totally killed my chance at 30 but still pretty good!

Oh, and yes, I totally babied it and used EV coach to watch my starts and braking and electric driving. This wasn't normal carefree driving.

That is nuts, I’m 99% on all of those and can’t top 18.5%. Been babying the throttle like crazy and been using adaptive speed control when possible.

I’m around 220 miles. Can’t snip 19 miles per gallon. Hope it gets better soon.

Same! It requires a special course where you do 25-40 mph, few cars around to disturb you, flat, etc. I just needed to try this to make sure there wasn't an issue unique to my truck.

Just did a 12 mile drive through rolling hills with twisting turns. 24.7 mpg! Seemed the perfect dive for the hybrid drivetrain.

What octane fuel is everyone using in their powerboost. I think 91 was recommended but I'm told 87 will be fine. Would like some imput please.
