I’ve had my PB for 2 days now. Loving it overall, but I was honestly surprised how little the electric motor can do on its own. Seems with like 25% more power out of that electric motor (And probably a bigger battery to go with it) you could get away with a huge increase in the amount of electric only miles. So often I just barely need a little more oomph than it can give me and has to kick the engine on for all of 10 seconds before I go right back into all electric again.

Just picked my PB on Friday and with 2 days of driving around 275km - I love this beast! In Normal mode, driving like my usual I was Averaging 10.1 L/100km and of the 275km driven, 102km was electric 50-50 split between highway and city. Looking like +1000km on a tank. This beast is monster off the line, but the one downfall is the reverse beeping which I wish you could turn down a little.

Here are some of my short around town trips. I'm pretty sure I won't keep up the grandma driving and coasting once the novelty of the new hybrid wears off and beefy tires go on the truck, but hey, its fun while it lasts!

I picked up my PowerBoost on Friday as well! It was a dealer stock truck that I bought after an exhaustive search for a SQ Platty Hybrid. I drove her home from Charlotte to Boston on Saturday. It's Tuesday and I have about 1,000 miles on her, averaging over 26 mpg, for a range of just over 800 miles on the 30.6 gallon tank!

This was just prior to the fill up, 19.594 gallons comes to 21.17mpg for this tank

Good point. Some of these eco numbers on the PB dashboard may be a tad inflated. I haven't yet verified the math myself with mileage and the gallon #s from the Pump. When I do, I'll use the TFL 'fill-up/wait-30-sec/top-off' technique to have a more accurate measure.

And to @Sentinel1201 's point, now that I've passed the 1000 mile break-in period, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be driving cautiously for MPG. 'Gotta make use of that 430 hp and 570 ft-lbs of torque!

@Madman: Yes, that is the fueling method that I subscribe to as well. I've had it 20 days (so 1890? miles) and the mileage has gotten a little better each trip, and I agree with you, the MPG calculation seems less "optimistic" than the 19' did, this one to the tune of about 11/2 mpg so far, the 19' was always 2-4mpg optimistic. For the most part I've only driven it in ECO mode because I'm loving the electric miles driven and the mpg game on the dashboard

That's some great MPG numbers you got there. Congrats on getting a truck even though it might not have been the one you ordered.

Thank you, @F150 Voodoo!

I am definitely happy. This build is really close - close enough that I can add the missing items myself (spray-in bed liner, Tonneau Cover, under-seat storage. All good!

Powerboost 4x4 157"WB Platinum, FX4, max loaded so it's pretty heavy. I knew I planned to upgrade tire and do a lift in the future so I wanted to get 3 full tanks in (~1500) miles to establish a baseline. Then do 3 tanks with the upgraded tires and then 3 with the lift. As I suspected from other forums the tires make the biggest difference. The lift makes a smaller difference and only on the highway. I figured my combined number should fall in between the city and the hwy numbers but that wasn't the case. The combined number has multiple warm ups and wind from all directions. The city and hwy numbers I made sure that winds were calm, elevation canceled out by going in a loop and the engine/transmission were warmed up. Otherwise the numbers would have been all over the place.

I had an almost identical 2016 ecoboost and averaged 15.5mpg out of it so the 20.5 (21mpg - 0.5mpg) I averaged factory out of this powerboost is a lot better even if I'm not averaging the 24 that the sticker shows. I have never averaged what the window sticker say and I think a lot of it is I order fully loaded/heavier trucks with numerically higher rear ends.

Hopefully this helps someone looking at bigger tires and lift.

Shouldn’t combined be in between city and highway?
