Thanks for response. I’m glad you were able to laugh out loud. I’ll eat my words about millennials being entitled, useless narcissists. I guess the obvious need to engineer a “hook” to hang a cable, that isn’t very good at hanging a cable mere inches from where it was already hanging by the charging port was lost on me.

hahahaha it’s a tongue-in-cheek comment, not a pecker, please don’t take it so hard. Just enjoy your XL and all of its quirks :)

Be honest though, would it surprise you if Ford "engineered" something as useless as a hook to hang a cable 2 inches from the charging port?

... and spent more time doing that, than planning their software delivery strategy.

Not Ford but back in the day the chrysler sebring (2 door non convertible) used to have a square cupholder that had the factory term "drink box holder" So whatever ford does doesn't surprise me.

I'm not sure who would have been carrying those drink boxes but it was a good size for a pack of cigarettes. Only problem there is they deleted the ashtray and put in the drink box holder.

No. I believe that their Department of Redundancy Department took care of the engineering on this.

You know that guy a couple days ago who wanted to remove the Pro Trailer Assist knob and replace it with a blank plate, and then got all snippy at the sissies who he thinks aren't man enough to back up a trailer? ask him ... he might know.
My '22 PB XLT 302A with 40/20/40 front sear has a 12v cig lighter plug there, but I'm thinking of taking it out and putting in that great hook you have 'cause ya know, noob knob and all. !! J/K !!

I don't have it but if I did I would find a Dewalt USB extension cable and bundle it perfectly and hang it there. Maybe drag it in the dirt a bit beforehand, that way I'd laugh whenever I hopped in the truck at my rugged ready-to-go USB extension cord.

I have a 2022 Lariat with the 40/20/40, wonder if there are connects behind that hook to add another power point.

I've searched and searched. I'm not even sure what to call this thing to try to find it on the internet:

They should have used that time and resources to fix the worthless BMS so we don't have to use a trickle charger or battery monitor on a brand new truck...
