It's used to notify the trains you're about to cross the railroad tracks, also called the Passing Over The Tracks indicator button. ;)

Ok, so the beeping explanation makes sense. My Toyota has this button, it just doesn’t look like that. On my Tacoma, if the tailgate is down you get a constant tone when backing up. The sensors think your about to hit something, so you have to either deal with it or turn it off.

Are there any sensors when pulling forward? I have the 360 camera but haven’t noticed and beeps when pulling forward towards something.

if you need to get close to something intentionally and don’t want to hear the beep you can turn it off.

I would be more inclined to think it’s a small printing error in the manual that does not match the actual symbol. It is located right beside the hazard warning symbol , so unless someone reports otherwise through turning it on and off when approaching an object , that’s what it’s for. But maybe you are totally right Sir, maybe we do have different cones here in Canada and it’s for Canadian only trucks . Again LOL

This is my biggest gripe with the reversing sensor. If I have a trailer attached and plugged in, don't warn me about the huge object attached to my truck. It should be smart enough to detect this and turn it off automatically.

YEP! I really wish I had this button on current truck. Also, I am afraid I am NOT going to have it on the new truck. I've seen the top row of buttons and I think on mine it will only be propower, camera, park assist, hazard, and hill descent (I think). I'm hoping they put it elsewhere because I really want to disable it when I have the "stinger" in the hitch!
