I am trying to get a decent 10" or 12" woofers with enclosure to be installed under rear seat. What are some of the best options out there, please recommend!
Please do share pictures if you one installed and how do you like it with unleashed B&O sound system? Is there any problems so far?

That depends on what you are looking for and the budget.

For low-end extension, vented is the way to go. The issue is airspace, not only do the subwoofers need more airspace for vented, but the vent displacement is removed from available airspace. So you have to get creative and throw out the "bigger subwoofer = better", but rather change that to "bigger enclosure = better". Since we are limited by airspace and enclosure location in these trucks, a vented enclosure is not as easy as it seems.

Just like a traditional vehicle, the placement of the vent matters...actually, it is the most important aspects in these trucks to ensure you do not experience acoustical cancellation in your response, especially below 50hz. In a sealed alignment, this of course is not a concern. So we have spent years finding the best way to maximize not only output in the lower spectrum (below 50hz), but also retain a certain level of sound quality. That's why we use unconventional size drivers and our vent placement is unique compared to conventional enclosures available for sale.

Our sound quality standards:
- No boomy, sloppy, out of control low bass
- Good articulation, especially around the 45-60hz range
- Must blend with the front stage (again, articulation and tonality are a must)

Target Output requirements:
- Must have a 3db down point below 35hz
- Enough output for our older clients that listen to 1970-1995 Rock Music (they need the most output)
- Decently linear across the frequency range, no one-note wonders
- Power handling of over 1000wrms but only needs 500wrms to deliver a reasonable output

Common questions....
- Is your enclosure the loudest? No, our clients are not teenagers anymore, but rather our enclosures are Sound Quality driven with plenty of volume for customers over 30yrs old.
- Can small speakers play low? In the correct enclosure, of course. Headphones can play down to 5hz.. BUT you need Power + Proper Amp Tuning + Efficient Enclosure to make this happen in a vehicle.
- Can you do XYZ larger subwoofers? No, as you go up in the size of a subwoofer, the internal airspace needs to go up also. More airspace = More bass, Larger Subs + Low Airspace = Less Low Bass
- Are your enclosures the best? No, we will never say we are the "best", but rather we are using the highest quality of materials, and fabrication techniques and focused on acoustical performance in the F-Series trucks. We are not building enclosures that just "fit", but rather sound good and happen to "fit" like a glove.

Below, I modeled a sealed vs vented enclosure. You can see some of the benefits of a vented enclosure below 50hz and just like anything, this graph is not the complete story. Power handling, sound quality, vehicle transfer function, vent placement, etc all come into play. But in the right hands and understanding of T/S parameters, you can do amazing things with different drivers.

So to answer your question, smaller is generally better when space and budget is limited.

Details on the chart. All are in the same airspace, all have the same power/watts.

Chart Colors:
Orange: One 10-inch Focal K2 Power 10-inch vented (Requires Seat Modifications to fit, same as the Tremor photos above that Fordphanatic posted.)
Blue: Our Four 6.5-inch Subwoofers Vented Enclosure
Red: Popular shallow mount 12-inch subwoofers

You can see the low-end extension difference between the setups.

I got a quote from a local shop (Mickey Shorr). $540 for a 12" Rockford sub enclosure with amp installed and a LCC for getting audio from factory speakers. Does it sound like a good system? Has somebody done this set up?
