honestly 22 is not bad! Once I get more used to the truck and I drive a little faster and more fun I’ll be happy with 22 lol
Yeah, 22 is not bad, and your 25.6 is like i said before - fantastic.

By the way, that’s a good song that you had playing....??

New member here.......That's very encouraging! I just ordered a new 501A 2.7 /3.55 4x4 to replace my 16 302A 2.7 4x4, which has same axle but with 6 speed. The 16 has been an excellent and very capable truck for 75k miles.

All good man with the 2.7. I’m halfway through my current tank and I’m currently getting 22.7.
That’s in cold weather, too.

Does anyone think that long term, the 2.7 would be less demand and value for resale, compared to the V8 and 3.5. I thought V8 was being replaced with 2.7 eventually but at this point v8 still going strong. I'm starting to think the 2.7 won't hold value compared to the other engines? Again just my opinion based on the hype in previous years. I do have a 2021 2.7 lariat on order.
Don't get me wrong, 3.5 awesome engine, just more money option, and less fuel efficient. I took the money difference and just added more options to the Lariat. Cant wait to hear the BO Unleashed
i ordered the 2.7. I don't tow anything but wanted enough torque to travel up some hills AND not spend too much money on gas. I like the EPA mileage numbers.

It fell down to 24ish but I am still super happy with it!

You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the overall performance of the nano 2.7.

So the concensus is from the new 2.7 litre owners that we have better gas milage then previous years? I'm not seeing that type of milage on my 2018 lariat. Looking forward to my 2021 :)

So far that is a correct statement where I am concerned. My former 2016 4X4 Screw with 3.73 gear/6 speed trans did not get as good of MPG as my 2021.

What is the payload rating of your 501A, what options do you have, and what is your GVWR? I've watched dozens of reviews on the F-150, but for some stupid reason no one ever shows the payload sticker or window sticker, the main info I want to see.

I'm seriously considering ordering a Lariat 502a Supercab, which shouldn't vary too much from the 501A.

EDIT: I just realized that you just ordered your truck, so I'm sure you don't know the payload rating yet. Please post it when you find out. Thanks!

I would expect a significant improvement due to the improved efficiency of the 10 speed transmission.

My 2018 lariat is a 10 speed. The 2.7 didn't live up to expectations for milage.

That's why I'm so curious if people are now getting the mpg that ford had stated in previous years. It sounds like there may have been some improvements which in reality is what they promised 3 years ago.

Would love to hear if there are others experiencing great mpg.

The next biggest factor is your driving style. There are plenty of examples all over the forums and youtube of people getting excellent fuel economy with the 2.7, so it's definitely possible. If you're not seeing similar numbers, there's likely a good reason for it. Maybe you have a heavier foot than you think, maybe you're buying bad fuel, maybe there's an issue with your truck, etc.

Correct - I just ordered my new one, so won't know payload for awhile....

My 16 302A/2.7 payload is 1525. Assuming my 501A will be less - 1400 to 1450 perhaps. That's OK, as it should still allow me to tow around 7000 lbs or a little more. My build with the Trailer Tow Package 53A has a tow capacity of up to 7700. Most of my towing is boats or snowmobiles around 3000 to 4000 and very occasionally a tractor at just under 7000 total tow weight.

As far as 2.7 fuel mileage with my 2016, mixed driving usually is around 20+ mpg, highway driving between 50 and 60 mph is around 22-24, and interstate 70mph+ is around 20-21. I recently drove a 2019 2.7 with 12000 miles on it about 75 miles, 90% highway, 10% in town driving and it showed 26.2 mpg for that trip.

I am currently waiting for my 2.7 4x4 supercrew XLT to be built (3/24). What you all are getting for mileage is very encouraging. I debated for a long time between the powerboost and 2.7, but a friend currently has a 2019 2.7 and loves it. We went on a a family road trip with them in August from Wisconsin to Colorado (Rocky MT National Park) The whole trip was over 2000 miles varying from steep uphill climbing to wide-open interstate driving of 80MPH. The trip averaged over 22MPG with 4 people in the truck and the box full of supplies. I thought that was fantastic!

I have also been following the forums on this site with those having the powerboost. Doesn't seem like they are really getting any better MPG's on a consistent basis as the 2.7, especially with highway driving. As gas prices continue to increase I am happy with my decision to get the 2.7.

Anyone have regrets with their 2021 2.7L?
