The only place the Raptor is faster than a PowerBoost is in MotorTrends make believe world where they post the Raptor at 4.7 bone stock.
MotorTrend posted the PowerBoost significantly slower than the EcoBoost in one article stating the 3.5 (5.3 sec 0-60) was faster than their PowerBoost (5.6 sec 0-60). Then why in every single video ever taken by a trusted source like TFL Truck does the PowerBoost smoke the regular 3.5 Eco from a dig? I swear MotorTrend has no clue how to drive or launch a vehicle correctly.
Their 5.0 testing irked me too. They yielded a 6.2 second 0-60 (not one other outlet matched times that slow). Everyone else (car and driver and motor week) posted the 5.0L at between 5.7-5.9 seconds 0-60 on 4x4s. MotorTrend then mentioned the 2.7 they tested was .01 second faster to 60 at 6.1 seconds, but conveniently left out the fact that the 5.0 truck was a loaded King Ranch 4x4 with 500 extra pounds curb weight per their own weight specs…yet per their own time slips the 5.0 still beat the stripper 2.7 in the 1/4 mile pass. Then their editors pumped it up like the 2.7 did better. It weighed 500 pounds less and still lost the 1/4 mile…what?
