Took that pesky dealership insignia sticker off of the tailgate. Was a little afraid I would damage the clear coat or paint, but it came off beautifully!

For those who want to do the same, but have the same concerns, here is how I managed it.

1. Use a handheld laundry steamer to heat up the area. It will begin to loosen or break down the adhesive. (My truck was sitting it the sun all day too so that probably helped. I’ve also read a hairdryer will work too). I did like how the moisture from the steamer reduced the friction when I was in the process of pulling it off.

Run the steamer over the area for about 30 seconds.

2. Once the area is nice and warmed up, I used a CLEAN plastic putty knife/scraper. I placed the scraper under the edge of the β€œY” because it seemed like the easiest edge to start the lift.

3. Slowly slide the scraper along underneath the badge/sticker. I did so WHILE using the steamer at the same time. Keep going slow and steady until the whole thing is off the truck.

4. The hardest part was removing ALL of the leftover adhesive and gunk. I did so by using some of the Chemical Guys Trim Clean. It worked, but it was tedious as it took a while to work the adhesive off the paint.

5. Once you’re satisfied all the leftover debris is removed, hit It was a heavy coat of your favorite wax to seal the area. Top work! Job done!

That looks like it must be a hell of a beautiful truck!

How about some pictures of the rest of it?

Installed my rear fender liners. Makes a huge difference on a white truck for sure!
Will you share a pic...I have Oxford white and wondering what to do next. Today I had a place butcher paint protection film so I'm trying to find something positive to focus on...lol

Saw the blacked out emblem at the Ford dealers parts department earlier this week for about $100. Im sure there are cheaper sources out there.

I had a Mustang that was a similar color. (2000)
I do like that color but it's a little too flashy for my tastes these days.

Beautiful truck though. REALLY beautiful truck!
