Also why is the dipstick so hard to read? My old cars I could easily tell where the oil level was.

My first two questions were why is the dipstick 4 feet long and why is it so hard to read.

Same as yer legs, it's the right length to get from where it starts to where it needs to be .

5.0L V8. Not sure if it was because the oil was cold and coming out like molasses maybe a lot was left in there. Was like 10 degrees out when I changed it and I didn’t really warm it up.

Oil change and put on new Raptor skid plate on my XLT. All connection points there but you do need some extra nuts/bolts.

Did you run the truck before checking the oil? Usually we'd put in an even 8 and it was right on the money or just a hair high which was fine since they all burned oil anyway.

Yep, was still crazy high. I think it was the 18-20 that called for 8 quarts. Reading on the 13th gen is what pushed me to buy a 14th gen, both the 5.0L and 3.5 EcoBoost have serious issues on the 17-20 trucks.

Those were 8.8 but got 9. Guarantee most all are getting 8 on the money whether at the dealer or independent.

Glad I wasnt the only one. I purposely only put in 7.5 and I am still way above the full mark.
and I drained warm oil on a warm day and let it dribble for a while.

Ya it’s definitely not able to take 7.75 quarts I let it drain with the plug out and filter out a good 20 minutes. I think 7 quarts is a safe fill and check it from there.
