I have never used the cruise control/speed sign dependent feature.
In this part of the country if you are going the speed limit you are a menace to those around you. 5-over will avoid the ire, but you still better stay in the pokey lane. 10-over and you can join the flow.

Not expecting it'll change your preference, but just FYI in the 12" display personalization configuration menus on my Ecoboost Lariat one is able to set a 'speed tolerance' in 1 MPH increments positive or negative.

The effect is, for example, when the system observes a sign posted at 60 MPH, if you've set the 'tolerance' at +5 MPH it will set your speed at 65 MPH while also displaying the observed 60 MPH sign indicator.

One can still use the +/- on the steering wheel to override/adjust the speed while maintaining sign-reading cruise operation, and any speed you set manually is not subjected to the 'tolerance' adjustment.

As I've been playing with this particular feature I found that the +5MPH tolerance I'd like on the highway is equally applied on 30MPH posted roads (and that's not acceptable for me).

I've settled (for now) with tolerance set at +2 and use the +/- to adjust as needed to match the flow on the highway.

I do find I like the sign-reading cruise, more than once I've been guilty of missing a sign change in the posted speed while the system catches it more often than not.

Heck if I know how it does it, but on a 2-lane otherwise 55MPH rural highway I pass a big white "35 MPH when flashing" school zone sign almost daily and the system consistently ignores that when not flashing ?!?!
