A few motorcycles in the barn too, but I'm getting old and less likely to share the road with smartphones, if you know what I mean. I got 6 grandkids and I guess I'm less risky than in my youth.

I have a 2011 audi q5 (rebuilt it from an insurance write-off)
2019 deere 3046R
2018 kubota kx040-4 (excavator)
2017 deere 5075E
2017 kubota X900W (sidebyside)
2008 F150 XLT HDPP (for farm use only, not licensed for the road).

Planning to replace my Audi and the F150 with the new truck for both daily driver and work around the farm.

A platinum lightning. We didn't buy the truck specifically for the HDPP, it just happened to have it. We bought it cheap due to a siezed engine (looked like the oil was never changed as it was sludge). Rebuilt the engine and been using it for the farm ever since (4 years).
We have made use of the extra payload a few times getting poultry feed (1200kg in the back which is slightly overloaded, but it is only 10km away - back end of the truck drops about 10" ?).

All of our feed is delivered to us in bulk now so we don't have to pick it up, and we have trailers that can carry anything over what the platinum will carry (dont have any other vehicles that can tow that 7500lb flat bed trailer)

I fetched a Platinum Powerboost a few months ago. It's just an amazing truck. So much "utility" for a luxury ride. I use the generator feature a lot!
But oh how I wish Ford would allow this truck to be built on that HDPP frame.

But I imagine it would just cut into their F250 sales?

Right now I have no vehicle. Sold my Tiguan to Carvana a few months ago to take advantage of the used car madness since I'm WFH for the foreseeable future. I use my SO's car after work for any errands, or rent a car when I have a day or two of daytime appointments/meetings. Using the money saved from not having a vehicle to put toward the down payment on my Lightning.

Wife and I did the same thing. I'm WFH and kids are doing virtual learning. Worked well for quite a while, but one kid has so many appointments it was worth putting that savings towards the ID.4.

Good luck to you for the 7 months or so more until the Lightning. You can do it!

I may either buy a cheap beater if I'm expecting a '23 order, or just going with my ID.4 Pro reservation and planning on getting a gen 2 Lightning if it looks like it'll be longer.

I don't think you'd regret the ID.4. We've only had ours for less than a day, but I'm kind of jealous of her. I wouldn't be in too much of a rush for the Lightning, but we've abused my Escape treating it like a truck. Has been a great car, but the Lightning just offers so much more.
