Since so many of us are waiting for our new trucks to come in and there is not much good news to report about that I thought I would create a slight diversion. What is your story and what are you driving while you wait for your new truck? I sold my 2016 F150 XLT 302a the day after Thanksgiving 2021. Bought it brand new for right at $40k out the door and sold it with 118,000 miles for $30k. I was pretty excited about that! My mother has a 1997, garage kept Ford Expedition that she drives about 3,000 miles per year because she goes just about everywhere with my father in his 2018 F150. She insisted that I borrow it for a few months ? while I wait for my new truck to come in. My total wait time as of today is exactly 2 1/2 months. I can’t wait for my new truck to come in but I get a lot of attention in this Expedition. Everywhere I go people want to know what year it is and how many miles it has. It is a testimony to the great quality that Ford puts into its vehicles. Yes, there are the occasional issues we all hear about, but overall Ford does a great job. So for now I will enjoy the Expedition, soak up the memory that I’m making and dream about the day my new 2022 F150 5.0 Lariat 501a Carbonized Grey Metallic arrives. Best of luck to everyone!

Currently driving this beauty! Her name is See Through ?
Although I love 'er dearly, she's worth a lotta money with the current trade prices. Also been needing a truck bed for a while now and I'm gettin' a bit tired of hittin' the gas pump so often (don't worry you don't have to mention the lift & tires, I already know ?)

Nice! Cool color too! I should have included a photo of my old truck which I miss every day.

I had to sink $7K into my Ranger 4x4 after the 3rd of SEVEN promised build dates came and went.
Good thing though… since I only got drive my new F150 for 4 weeks before it shattered a valve. Now it’s sitting at the dealership “waiting parts” and I’m driving a loaner car the dealership was good enough to give me, driving my rebuilt Ranger when I need a truck.

I’d post pictures but it isn’t easy on the eye.

RUNS GREAT now though!

lol

Hardly driving at all these days... l'll be selling my 91' K1500 and an 07' Avalon once this F-150 arrives. Call it a consolidation if you will.

2022 Platinum Ordered
I sold my 2018 in July 2021 and decided to pick up a 2004 Infiniti FX35 for the time being. I made some money off the F150 (which almost paid for the Infiniti) and was holding out for the prices of the 2021 to come down to get back into a truck. I came across the below invoice pricing and decided to order a '22 through Granger Ford on 2/4/22. Hoping it doesn't take longer than 6 months!!

I also have a 2009 Camry that I drive around when I don't have my dogs with me.

I've got a 2015 Expedition, a 2008 Chrysler minivan, and a 1998 Ranger that we rotate through while we wait for the new truck. When that one comes, we'll trade in the minivan and my wife will primarily drive the Expy (at least until she decides that it's too big for her). We're holding on to the Ranger for something for my 16 year old son to drive.

No photos because they're nothing special to look at.

2021 F-150 LARIAT 502A

Placed order for 2022 F-150 King Ranch 601A February 9 2022
I bet your wait is a lot more enjoyable with that

What made you decide on ordering the King Ranch over the Lariat?

2021 F-150 Lariat (2022 F-150 King Ranch On Order)
I bet your wait is a lot more enjoyable with that

What made you decide on ordering the King Ranch over the Lariat?

My previous vehicles were:

2017 Lincoln MKZ
2019 F-150 Lariat 502A
2020 F-350 Lariat Sport Tremor
And now the 2021 F-150 Lariat 502A again.

I had sold my 2020 F-350 Tremor for $15000 more than I paid for it after 1 year due to the Covid Shortages.
I took the 2021 F-150 off a lot as it was available but its the first vehicle ive had in a few years that I dont walk out to and be like "Damn thats mine""... So I miss that feeling.

Also the King Ranch interior is on another level compared to the Lariat. I had tha multi contour seats in my 2017 Lincoln MKZ and am excited to get those back as well!

Going to level the KR and put some big tires on it to alleviate my 350 Tremor sale remorse.

That said I chose to order an F-150 over the 350 because I dont need the capabilities anymore, and prefer the ride of the 150. Figured this new KR would be the best of both worlds :)

Sold my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0 at the beginning of the year to lock in the insane used car pricing and put no more miles on her. Very nice car that did everything well. But it was just a car.

Currently sharing a 2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid with my wife. I work from home so I drive her to work every other day. I have really enjoyed the hybrid configuration in that sled, as it's very similar to how the Powerboost is designed, at least having the electric motor in series with the tranny. Like many have stated before here, I play the "EV Game" to try to extract as much mileage out of the battery as I can when I'm not impeding anyone behind me.

But I'm feeling somewhat emasculated driving a Sorento and would like to get my Man Card back when the truck comes in.

Someday.

I know exactly what you mean. I had a 2018 Limited before and loved that thing even though the color wasn't my first choice. I got a great deal on it and made some money selling it. When I recently started looking into used trucks again, I liked a 2019 Platinum but after driving it and looking at it, I didn't leave the test drive like "I gotta have it". It would have been a great truck but with the interior improvements on the newer models, I'd always second guess my decision so I decided to order a 2022 Platinum which I "intend" to keep for a long time.

I'm sure if you decide to sell the Lariat you'd make your money back if not more due to the market.
