What are these brackets on side of bed tailgate? They dont match up to anything on bed pillar and i dont know what theyre for?

They are the new tie down locations so you can strap down a load when the tailgate is down/open.

It has been in all the Ford ads for the new trucks. They’re clearly targeting the bottle beer drinking demographic with this truck. Plus it just makes a lot of sense. I’ve always wondered why it was a struggle to find a good spot to tie down long lumber in any pickup truck - now Ford comes up with at $5 solution that is genius in execution, adds HUGE utility to any truck in terms of how people really use them - reflects that they survey and think hard about how people use trucks in the real world. Maybe should have been done decades ago, but here it is. Good on ‘em.

What bed rug is that?

The bedrug is actually out of the 2018 I traded in and it's a perfect fit. The old switch for the powered LED bed light moved but the old hole is where the new AC outlet is now and I just had to recut those new holes and fits perfectly. I bought a re-installation kit to get all new velcro too. The rug is BRQ15SCK. I do not have a plastic bedliner nor a spray-in liner under it.

The tie down location is great. I often have long lumber hanging out the back and it makes tying down much easier.
