I wouldn't go over 31 ft with a f150 sb. I feel lengthwise that is about the max. For me anyway.

21 XLT with Max Tow, weight distribution Hitch pulling a 33ft (Tongue to rear bumper) 6100lbs dry TT. 2nd one I have owned and have had zero issues with the family, dog and loaded camper. I have a level, 34 inch nitto grapplers, and the RAS kit for the rear.

I would point out that adding the weight distributing hitch makes it a lot more stable - my first 3,000-mile tow up and back I-95 last summer was without this due to having the old surge brake trailer system. Coming back to Florida a couple weeks ago I had the new weight distributing hitch and dual-axle brake upgrade on the trailer - was a whole new deal - way better - again, similar to towing with my F-350. Still not the right truck, but the right setup for this truck.

Pic of the new hitch setup. My trailer tongue weight is 850 pounds, I am 200 pounds, the kayaks total 275 pounds with the rack, so with nothing else, I am at 1,325 on paper, technically 85 pounds over the payload spec. However, the scales say otherwise, that I am 30 pounds under GVWR, and below both front and rear GAWR. Another factor is that I upgraded the OEM lightweight tires to true E-rated truck tires, so added some reserve, albeit not increasing the legal payload or overall truck capacity should there be a need to defend the rig's setup in court. But it is as tight as can be, and no hitchhikers or wives can ride along.

This is what I barely towed with my gladiator and am super excited to tow with my f-150. About 7000 fully loaded. Use a WDH w built in sway. If you have the brake controller and WDH dialed in correctly it’s amazing how much better the tow vehicle drives and handles.

As others have said, should watch out for payload more so than towing limits. By the time you add the hitch at the ball weight, the WDH, stuff in the bed, mods and other passengers and cargo, it adds up quick.

Wow. I never would have towed that with a Jeep.

It's all about Cargo Capacity, not Towing Capacity.
The mighty Ecoboost and Powerboost can "tow" like a freight train. They have more horsepower and as much torque as the classic F350 7.3 Power stroke of yesterdecade had. They truly are powerful trucks.
But they are 1/2 ton chassis with 1/2 ton payloads.

Now if Ford would allow us to put the Powerboost in the HDPP F150 chassis?
THAT would be the RV King of the 1/2 ton world!

Wouldn't you love your Powerboost with this sticker? (CrewCab 2WD)

Heck, I'd take any sticker 2000# and above when coupled with the PB.

You already have one of the best stickers for a well equipped Powerboost, but yea, we have a Powerboost with a 2000# sticker.

But it's missing that extra foot of bed you have and probably a few other comforts.

Yes, I'm pretty pleased with the CC weight of my 2022 PB. I do like the extra length (157" WB) of the truck.

I took it out on a camping trip in March before I've weighed it, which I don't like to do. I will get it weighed before my next trip out. I do 3 runs across the CAT scales. Truck only, Truck & trailer with out WDH hooked up, and with the WDH in place.

2000# PB? Color me stunned. Any chance you can provide trim, equipment group, window sticker…?😳
I would love to know there is a real PB out there with more than 1500# payload. Thanks 😊

@Atlee , who posted the quote on the white Powerboost with the hefty Payload, has well over 1500# on his nicely equipped XLT. He researched diligently prior to ordering his truck of course.

The white truck with the 2000+# Payload is a fleet Powerboost (XL) that was then outfitted for towing an RV for Aviation Technicians to go rescue aircraft from smaller airports where sufficient maintenance and repairs are regionally easy to get. In XL trim it obviously doesn't have all the creature comforts, but a Gen14 XL is quite a different truck from previous generations. Even the base model has the 8" touchscreen Sync that the previous Platinum would have had.

Here's some pictures of the towing upgrades and such:
Bilsteins
Helwig
Load E Michelins
And lights that will light up a dark runway or parking spot.

I just took delivery of my F150 that was specced out for towing a specific 5th wheel we have on order (Escape 5.0). It’s just about the smallest 5th wheel you can buy, only 21ft behind the truck. Max weight around 850lbs on the king pin. However I didn’t want to be anywhere close in towing/payload limits. Don’t want it to be a white knuckle experience. My 2.7 EB Supercab with payload package is rated to tow 10100lbs and mine as equipped has a 1889lb payload.

My MY22 PB, XLT 302A, 6.5' box, 4x4, has a payload of 1645#. As mentioned by @Snakebitten I had a sheet that listed each option and the weight it added to the front axle and the total weight added. I tried to make sure I stayed above 1600#. My estimate was something like 1610-1615#. As mentioned the official weight is 1645#.

Great! I have almost the same order than you since I was payload conscious and my estimate was 1630 with max tow. Went for the Sport version without the 7,2kw, the storage, the pedal and the camera (😟). Will be used to tow a 19 GD Transcend 277BH. 6700 lbs dry with a 610 lbs hitch weight.

I spec'd mine similar to @Atlee, but opted for the Lariat 501A and ended up at 1,613 lbs (the rest of my specs are in my signature). If I had to do it over again I wouldn't have done the spray-in liner and gone w/ just a mat which would have saved me another ~40lbs. With that said I've added a light tonneau cover and running boards for all the short people I haul around. I haul a 25' travel trailer with a 5k lb dry weight. One day we might upgrade, but I doubt I'd go over 27' and 6k lbs.

Interesting that you didn't get the 7.2 Kw option. Guess that's why Ford provides so many options, and trim levels. For me, the 7.2 Kw was the reason I got such new technology in basicly the 1st generation. I do a lot of boondocking, and I was tired of hauling 2 Honda generators and the gas needed to run them in order to run the A/C.

Also, when stopped at a Walmart, I can plug the trailer into my truck in order to run the A/C so I can get some sleep.

We boondock only one or two night per year, but you make me hesitating. Still have the time to change my order. 😄
