As soon as I got home, I got out of the truck and went to check out the passenger side looking for any marks because I thought I heard a rock or something hit it while I was driving.

Luckily I didn’t find anything, but while I was in that area pretty much right beside the bed I heard this weird mechanical sound, the best way I can describe It is almost like a power drill but not really.

I wish I could compare it to something better. It only lasted for about two seconds, and that was it.

While I was , looking under the truck and in that area for something that might have caused that sound I was waiting for it to happen again, but it didn’t.

Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about? This was a couple of weeks ago and I just heard it again today as I got into my truck and was about to drive off. It was just loud enough that I can hear it with the doors and windows closed.

Sounds like the electric parking brakes. Even if you don’t actuate the EPB using the switch, if the truck is on an incline it will set them for you.

Take the center cap off the wheel and see if the bolt fell off.

Thanks for the fast reply. There’s barely any incline on my driveway but at least I now know that there is some thing there to cause that noise.

I don’t know a whole lot about mechanical stuff so I thought my truck was doing some weird stuff or maybe someone put something on my truck without me knowing.

Can hear the electric parking brake with windows up and doors closed. I can imagine it must be loud standing next to truck.

It only happens for a couple seconds whenever it does but it’s not very loud. I would say the same volume level as a power drill

Yeah like a motor sound?
It is very similar sound to a short burst of a power drill.
