Super excited!! We ordered our F150 today!! The dealer has no idea when it will come in. Could be six weeks, could be six months, but we are fine with that. Just happy its ordered before the mid year price increases, and during the employee pricing. Attached is a copy of the order sheet FYI.

A few interesting facts. 1) you cannot get the max tow option without the blackout package. 2) you cannot get the FX4 package with the Max Tow axle. While we really wanted to add the FX4, but the Max Tow package ranked higher on the list.

Lastly, a few mods right off the bat. 1) We did not order the hard bed cover because we are not sure it will work with our future fifth wheel (small fiberglass #4600 rig - google "Escape 5.0"). So we need to put a new bed cover on it after delivery. Probably hard folding. 2) We will be changing out all the lug nuts asap with 1-piece lug nuts. 3) We did NOT order the Mobile Office because the 500A has the outlet in the dash anyway, and we did NOT want the OEM rear under seat storage. We really like the BIG full carpet when the rear seat is up, and the folded down OEM tray still seems bulky and slippery. We will add aftermarket rear seat storage.

We specifically ordered the 500A because it was the only Lariat with the Max Tow, which forced us into Black Out Package, but it still did NOT have dual exhaust. We must have single exhaust to add the B&W turnover ball gooseneck for the lightweight "Escape 5.0" trailer because the B&W hitch interferes with the dual exhaust. Lastly, we ordered the TPMS/Camera because we wanted to be certain that the truck had the full pinned out harness for the 12-pin connector for the trailer.

Well, that's about it! Super excited! Now its just a waiting game!

Congratulations, I think you've specified a great tug for the Escape 5.0 (y)

If you do a lot of camping have you looked at a Powerboost? They can run your whole set up. If you never go anywhere without an electrical hookup site, it may matter less, but it is a dream truck for remote power and power outages.

Good luck with it!

Interesting. Nice build. We ended up with an XLT in order to get max tow in a 157” WB truck without the blackout package. Why can’t you just order max tow on anything I wonder!?

Thank you Buyer, and a HUGE Thank you for the help on all the tips, especially hitch and the TPMS. Invaluable information and so much appreciated!

I'm still sticker shocked at a nice new truck..
Actually - ME TOO. Its sickening. This is a HUGE purchase for us, and only our third new vehicle ever. I think we looked at it like, almost 60k all in on an STX, or 9k more for this build. And its kinda our retirement truck. We keep vehicles for a LONG time as long as they treat us well.

We did, but I have to admit, maybe I'm being old fashioned, but all the added complication with that just scares me. IDK - maybe it shouldn't, but I'm an old school V8 guy. Heck, the 5.0 is probably a rolling computer enough as it is. I was set on the STX, but this build just snuck in there - its the most luxurious vehicle we will have ever owned! We do carry a Honda 2000 generator with us that I converted to LP, so it can easily run off the camper propane tanks. I have also read fuel economy while towing was better on the 5.0, but we will see about that I guess.

It doesn't make sense at all. I know the MaxTow axle wont fit in the 18" chrome wheels. But it does fit in the 18" black wheels. But why for the life of me you cant get FX4 on this build but you can on an STX or XLT? Crazy

Congrats ... did the dealer mention anything about if the tariffs go into affect you will have to pay them? That's what they told me when I asked last month. They couldn't warranty the the price would up.

They “verbally” said the price is locked at the A/Z price plus tax and $235 fee. But here is the kicker. They didn’t even want any money down. I think their stance is if I don’t buy it, they will just sell it for more because the employee pricing will be over. Let’s hope they keep their verbal word. If not, I would walk just on principle.

The ONE thing I would absolutely do is get a quote from Granger..4% below invoice is unbeatable plus Dealer fees are extremely low.. You owe It to yourself to see there out the door price..

The other underrated benefit of the Powerboost is if it's hot and you need to leave your dog(s) in the truck, you can go into generator mode, keep the A/C running, and the cabin stays cool. Engine only starts when needed to charge the battery to keep your dog(s) cool and safe.

Agree! I have never heard of Granger until joining this forum. I did do my diligence with them. They were super nice! They quoted the build and were about $200 cheaper. I’d say if it were not for the employee pricing, they would have smoked my local dealer. But the $200 savings was not enough to make the trip. I’m sure they are awesome folks and will be unbeatable once this sale is over!

As far as the max tow stuff is concerned, you left out that you can’t get max tow unless you get the v8. Not sure if it was ever the other way around but I know is used to be you had to have the 3.5 hybrid (power boost) in order to be able to try and get the maximum tow ratings. Or something like that?

It’s all so confusing when you build these things online. Add this, takes this away…no no I want that, add it back well I guess I can’t get this then..and it goes on lol.
