Did they tell you that you are not in the first wave or how did you find this out?
Yes, my dealer emailed to nformed me, he also stated if the first guy dropped he would let me know that also, however, I don’t think that will make any difference, I still got to be notified by Ford.

Oh, wow! Your dealer is super on top of it. I've heard nothing about my reservation at all. I just assumed that was to be expected by switching to Ford (mainstream brand).

I heard from my dealer, and we have been in contact. However his hours are hit or miss, so he could be part-time.

Good morning,

We have received some information on the lightning for our "Wave 1" customers. For reference we have 134 reservations in the system. It sounds like roughly every couple of weeks there will be a new "wave" of orders initiated. From the impression I get, this is going to be a slow and deliberate process and not the mad "rush" of orders like the Bronco.

The first Wave for us produced 1 order to schedule. I am under the impression that most dealers received either 1 or 0 Lightning to schedule in the first wave. So those with orders will need to be patient. My guess is that your local dealer may not know quite how many they received yet, but it is available to us in a reporting section.

We do not have any information on total year allocation at this point. We didn't get any allocation number actually on this. Just informed of 1 Lightning for our first wave.

Zach
Any advice on how to keep our reservation dealer honest? I have no relationship with any Ford dealer so I picked the one that was building a new sales floor and service area.

I reserved on 5/19 right after the reveal. I have only had communications from the dealer that were in response to my questions.

Honest in what way? They want to make their money, just as much as you want your new ride. The whole over MSRP thing is controlled at the GM/owner level.

Your best bet is to get to know the person who will be handling the Lightning sales. I don't mean to become best buddies, and go our drinking... I mean just talk to him/her via email/phone. They (the dealership) want to establish a long relationship. So its in your and their best interest to be welcoming. Granted this EV, and others too, will have possible ramifications on their service side, but thats another story.

I’m assuming they are using Wave #1 as a test run for ordering etc etc. Maybe we can expect more allocations for the next waves but all will first handful of waves will be delivered at the same time. If it’s only 1 per wave, then, it’s hilarious and might as well wait on a Rivian lol
If this is true, it just cements that Ford does not care at all about frustrating its customers. To release a date for when invitations will go out, and then only send them to a tiny group is almost trolling us. It's like all the crap I've received in the mail for a Bronco without getting any updates on when I can actually get mine. But hey, I have a painting of a bronco, a hammock, and a bronco desk calendar now, so good times. All I wanted to was an email.

What??? You only get to order one in the first wave? What happened to the allocations, i.e. 100 orders get to order ten?
That may be given to us at some point. But we do not have any information yet.
Guess there is no way you can check what other dealers are getting as far as wave 1?

The one person that got invited in wave one.. do you know what their time stamp was? (if you can share it that is)
It was almost immediate.
Thanks as always!

Any sense from you that dealers in other States would get bigger allocations?

E.g., my dealer is in California and has 700+ reservations. Seemingly one first wave allotment isn't going to make much of dent here ;)

Also, was the allotment tied to you as a dealer and reservation time stamp... Does this seemingly lessen the timestamp value?

Say, dealer #1 has only one reservation with a timestamp on 5/22.

Dealer #2 has 5 reservations, all with time stamps on 5/19.

So, dealer #1 customer is in a better place than the others at dealer #2?
I really don't have a good answer for you. I'm sure the California Emissions states will be prioritized somehow, how much I'm not sure.

I would think the first wave would be smaller because of this. 100%.

To be fair, none of this communication has been intended for the customer, it's internal prep - the docs in this forum even say it's private / internal / secret. We're the ones coming here and chewing through information. The vast majority of the 100k+ reservations are just chillin' and waiting to get pinged by Ford.

I'd reach out to them. Hopefully they'll be forward with you about it.

FWIW, I just found an interesting “fine print” statement at the bottom of slide 6 that gives hope to more than one invite per wave. Maybe this first wave is just a test as another member in this forum has already stated. Still can’t find where it said Ford was only building 5% Pro models???

Reached out to my dealer, and it was only 1 for the first wave. So at the moment, I will be chilling to at least wave 2. However if all 9 people cancel, then it will be up for grabs.
