Anybody know the difference between the black case and the white case H8 platinum at wallyworld?

I believe that all of the Everstart Platinum AGM's have a gray case with a black top.

Interesting. Maybe they have changed the appearance going forward and they will now be all black? As long as the specs are the same and it has a recent date code, you should be good with either.

Just curious, are they all marked "Made in Germany", or ...?

This my older 'black case', I had to peel-back the label to see the country of origin

Some are made in Germany....some...I think....are made in China.

If you are a Costco member the American made H8 AGM for the same ($179.99) price might be a better way to go. Sam's has the Deka East Penn "Duracell" but it's $20 more

Might want to compare warranty in addition to price.

The Walmart Platinum is 4-years full-replacement (straight exchange for a new battery with no pro-rating of the price over time).

I used that warranty once, a battery I ruined by my own laziness on a rarely driven vehicle that I allowed to go totally dead multiple times ( ). Walmart swapped it out no questions asked.

Just for your consideration.

The Costco Interstate's are full 3 year replacement no pro-rate. Did not realize Walmart was doing 4 years.

Just a heads up, those circle stickers with the month and year are not the date of manufacture. They are put there when received by the retailer so the folks selling them know which to try and sell first.

I picked up the H8 platinum yesterday with black case, this one actually had a sticker that read
"MADE IN GERMANY".
The others I saw were not marked regardless of color. YMMV...
