I just have to wonder how long the consumer here in the US will be willing to pay the artificially high auto prices we‘re seeing. The bubble has to burst sometime.

I just have to wonder how long the consumer here in the US will be willing to pay the artificially high auto prices we‘re seeing. The bubble has to burst sometime.
Its artificial in that the dealers had been marking up for quite a time. The plain fact is cars are more expensive because:

  • weak money
  • out of control subcontractors
  • expensive tech we don't want or need being forced on us
  • UAW if you've seen the news lately
  • warranty work and recalls are such a problem that it's been raising MSRPs

Tesla just dropped prices in china again -- US prices drop likely to follow. Incumbent auto is in trouble.
