Got some good pics from Utah, Arizona, Grand Canyon trip.
First wild Tortoise on the trail, healthy but looked like he had been hit maybe years before. We rescued a baby Great Horned Owl from the river, brought him to a Utah Raptor Rehabilitation Center, he's doing well, eating 2 mice a day now, soon to be released. Not Ford Raptor lol. Utah to North Rim of Grand Canyon Toroweap overlook was 100 miles out, 100 miles back on dirt roads, trails. We needed extra fuel for the 4 runners. LOL I really need to ditch these 20's n get 17's for more sidewall. Future upgrade in the works. But the ole F150 kicked butt again, even in Sand Hollow up the funnel. Climbed/scraped up wall on 2 front shackles, scraped across 2 RCI skid plates, including transfer case plate (thank God), scraped down on rear hitch shackle. Good to go.

Thank you. I can't put into words the gratitude I have for Ford, building a truck that allows me to experience some of these epic adventures, in some of the most beautiful remote places in the Southwest U.S.

Good on you for saving that owl. It probably took you much time and miles to do that, but it was outstanding that you did.

One thing about the Grand Canyon. Every picture is outstanding, but it still doesn't even come close to the magnitude of the beauty.

Great pics from your adventure. The owl looks like he's eying up your beer - be warned. ;)

Great shots! I love Utah, visited around 12 times now over two decades. Beautiful spots.

So the owl just chilled like that the whole way back?!

Yes, we love Utah, still exploring. Wife loves hiking all the Natl Parks.

Owl was clicking beak in defense when we dried him off or if you got in his face. It was a group effort. Our leader Kurt swam across the Virgin river and back to recover him in a towel. My friend Aldo and his wife took him in their 4 runner and he settled down once in the burrito wrap (pic). LOL Eventually Austin and Byron got hold of Rangers and they connected him to Steve the raptor guy to arrange meetup near Leeds I think. I ran sweep with 50 Watt BTech Ham to relay comms. They met up with Steve who had an animal carrier ready and the owl ran right in. They caught back up to us in main group at trail head and air down 30 min later. It all worked out somehow. Steve said owl prob would have died of hypothermia or been preyed on by coyotes or racoons. We were surprised to hear about racoons.
