Haven’t gotten an answer yet. Most suggestions have been of other plugs from what I’ve seen. Haven’t had a chance to put my circuit tester on it yet.Did you ever get an answer on this? I noticed that referenced thread indicated a six pin connecter rather than a four blade connector as in your picture.
Yes I do.. 2kNot much of an update but adding some info.
I don’t have propower onboard. It looks like someone else posted a pic of theirs and the connector I posted is plugged into a plug that splices right into the main loom. They have propower. Only guess for now is that it’s related to that option.
@Br549 do you have propower option?
This cap fits. Finally hunted down the proper connector.I also have the open plug, but dont' have any sort of cap for it...seems like it should be covered up though just from it's look.
Not the same plug. This circuit doesn’t have anything to do with tailgate and none of the connectors in the bag are close.Believe these plugs are for when you pull your tailgate. Your truck should have come with a bag of connectors, mine did. Looking at them they will either cover the connection to keep water out, complete a circuit, or provide a termination resistance for the vehicle CAN in order to keep that system happy.
Yes, I have the pro power on board - its not capped and uses that 4 pin. I have the 12 pin plug cap as well and that is for the tailgate and caps the connection later up in the harness. Not the same plug. This circuit doesn’t have anything to do with tailgate and none of the connectors in the bag are close.
I’ve come to learn it’s likely for pro power on board generator option.
