Threw some tint, PPF, tonneau cover and a few minor accessories on the truck.

6/14/22
I got bit by the mod bug and wanted to level out the truck so I bought the new Bilstein 6112/5160 for ‘21+ f150. I originally set them to 2” but due to the weight of the powerboost engine, I didn’t get the full 2” lift. I later maxed out the struts for more clearance. I may look into heavier springs or the previous generation struts but for now, it rides well on the road

The wheels on the truck started to look small so I decided to bite the bullet on some new wheels and tires. I much prefer the smaller wheel bigger tire look. I spent a lot of time finding lightweight wheel and tire combinations to maintain some MPGs (I know it’s a truck, not a Prius but I’m not going to complain about saving a few bucks at the pump)

installed SDHQ ditch light brackets and some “cheap” auxbeam 3” light pods. I’m using a trigger six shooter controller to control my auxiliary lighting

The lariat grill was starting to bore me and all the aftermarket grilles are either too expensive or look cheap so I added “raptor” marker lights.

my neighbor got his catalytic converter stolen from his Prius so I bought the RCI transmission skid plate with cat guards to hopefully deter some thieves and it provides good off-road protection also

my wonderful girlfriend got me some interior accent lighting since ford decided to get rid of some of it for 22+ trucks

The auxbeams looked a bit small so I decided to buy some baja designs xl sports to replace the 3” pods. I think the quality and performance is night and day.

I have a few more mods coming in the next few weeks but as of now this is what the truck looks like going into 2023

the third brake light and s2 sports arrived and right off the bat, this is a quality piece of kit but I will note the instructions are not 14th gen specific so you may want to reach out to them to clarify things. We’ll see how many swear words come out when I go to install it

*update* this mod probably appeals to a small amount of people but I do think the look alone is worth it. The instructions online are not super helpful but if you’ve wired lights to an upfitter switch bank before then it’s not too hard to do. The hardware used to mount the light to the truck is absolutely horrible and WILL scratch your cab if you are not careful. I reached out Gj motorsports about the faulty led and they responded super quick. Overall great product and great customer service.

Final update on the third brake light. GJ sent some new marker lights and I finally have the brake light working.

It’s been a long wait but the diode dynamics elite max headlights/foglights finally arrived to my door. Install was straight forward and didn’t take too long to install. The output is pretty great compared to my oem bi-led headlights.

You had me at Twin spooly bois lol. Truck looks good too. Glad to see the 52's on there as well. I wish more people would step out the box a lil bit and get these. You don't have to have a cosworth or an RS to get Fifteen52's. But that seems to be the way. Loving to see this come together.

Haha thanks! I’ve always been a fan of 52 wheels and wanted a set of Turbomacs for my VW GTI. I’m surprised more people don’t run their wheels

Love it, and thanks for sharing all the details. I have your truck, but a long bed and have also been searching for wheels and tires in a lightweight package for the same reasons. A couple follow ups from your post;

- Do you know the total weight of your new wheel / tire setup? If not, have you noticed any issues with EV mode kicking in (or not kicking in) compared to stock?
- I see you mentioned you first installed the Bilsteins at 2 inches, then maxed them out. Are the most current photos maxed out, or still the 2 inch setting?

1. The tires are 46lbs and the wheels are 26-27lbs totaling to about 73lbs. I completely forgot to weigh my stock 18s so I’m not too sure how much lighter/heavier my new set up is. There are even lighter options for wheels if having the lightest wheel possible is your goal (black rhino Dugger in 17x8.5 @24lbs). Around town/stop and go traffic I noticed it doesn’t really like to go in ev mode but that could be due to the rapid acceleration and decelerations (thank cali drivers for that). On a clear highway, the truck goes into ev mode without any issues.

2. The latest photos and photos I’ll be posting in the future will be on the 2.5” setting. I will note that moving from the 2” to 2.5” setting only gave me an extra .5” so I don’t really think you’d be able to actually tell a difference visually. From a ride standpoint I prefer the 2” setting (Top is 2” bottom is 2.5”)
