I just had mine changed out today as per the TSB. The new one is better build. It is solid plastic no more flexing like the old one had.

21 Limited Powerboost with 29k miles here and finally completed the modification after a year of ownership.
Pretty easy to trim back the rubberized trim piece with a sharp razor blade. I initially wanted to purchase the NEW updated trim cover, however I kept finding conflicting OEM Ford parts #s to ensure I got the updated panel. I just made the decision to cut and be done with it, no worries.

If 2021-2023 owners don’t do this TSB or mod, will it kill their turbos?

In case somebody needs the part number, it is listed in the TSB. It works well. Not sure what conflicting information you have gotten.

Has anyone confirmed fitment of the shroud referenced in the TSB on a 3.5l EcoBoost (non-PB)?

Ford has know about this for years. I was having this issue on my 21 Raptor kept folding the intake into itself. I did a few iterations of a fix before Ford came out with a TSB that was only for the Raptor and Tremor. Why they would not do this for all the trucks is beyond me. I did notice on my 24 that the trim has the openings now and the hood has been revised to allow more air flow (for the 24 Raptor).

My intake kept ripping the snap in connectors so i ended up tapping and screwing it down. This kept it from pulling itself out of the fasteners.

Then Ford released a TSB showing the openings on the shroud. So i made my own openings.

Then COBB released a bracket to hold the intake down and added rigidity. So those where the revisions i had gone through a few years ago.

You can see that the hood seals on the intake but this actually covered half the intake. Not the black chalk marking Thats basically half the intake.

They revised the hood on the 24 that has a larger opening and doesnt cover half the intake.

If the dealership saw that someone did this diy, would they void the warranty?

Forgive me if Im late to the party fellas, but I just bought my 24 3.5 Ecoboost in November and I do believe it has this cutout that you all speak of. I will double check tomorrow. And I will take a picture and let ya fine folks know when it was built as well. I do know it was built in Kansas. Probably most F-150s are though.

Yes…..it’s fits just fine. Many have used it.
Read this entire thread. Kind of want to do this to my 2.7 now if the part fits. Experienced heavy spark knock under WOT in sport mode a few weeks back and am concerned about this and snorkel deflection.

IMO, you will only benefit by doing this mod to any F150 turbo including earlier years. This includes the COBB component to hold the snorkel down. I showed a friend with a 2023 3.5 EB what the mods were on my 2024, then we looked at his truck. He does a good amount of towing you could see where the bottom lip of the snorkel was already stretched from being curled up. With a sharp knife/blade, only a minute is required to trim the rubberized radiator trim piece. It is good to make sure your engine can breathe better.

Spark knock may be due to the fuel you are running.
As far as the air deflector, the numbers are the same. No difference between them. The part called out in the TSB would for well.
