The dealer tried resetting the tables a few back. It worked for a little over 24 hours and then the shudder came back.
I’ve locked out 8-10 on the ride to and from work today. The ride was actually enjoyable as it didn’t shudder at all. I’m going to keep running it like this until a fix from ford is presented

How do you lock out the gears?

Hey All,

I have a 21 Powerboost Lariat with the same issue. I recently had a 2 inch level with 35x11.5x20 ridge grapplers installed and it definitely got a little worse. I had an appointment set tomorrow at the dealership, but after reading through this forum I may just cancel. I really don't have the time to go back and forth with Ford only to have them tell me nothing is wrong. But I also know that me bringing it in will help make the issue more known to Ford. This is my first Ford and as I read how terrible Ford has handled this situation it makes me want to trade it in and never go back! Other than this issue I absolutely love my truck so I hope Ford can get their shit together and fix this.

I am on my first tank using premium gas and it definitely helps. It doesn’t seem to be completely gone, but it’s not as aggressive when it does happen. Overall the truck does seem to run better on premium. Wish I had known this before buying this truck…

Exact same shudder as Bullet with my 2021 Powerboost.

ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP- took truck to dealership in early December and they wouldn’t look at truck because “Ford really didn’t want them working on transmission until the truck had more than 5k miles”, also told me their call center shouldn’t have booked appointment as they didn’t have a tech on staff to work on transmissions.

Being a good customer ….. I waited until the mileage was greater than 5k and called multiple dealers to find an appointment.

SECOND DEALERSHIP- early January finally talked to a different dealer (call them SECOND DEALERSHIP) and got appointment for tomorrow 1/24/22.

ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP: called me last week, after having ticket open for weeks, and said they now have a tech and could get me in. Took my 2021 Powerboost to dealership on Thursday. Picked the truck up late Friday, Service Advisor told me there was a bulletin out from Ford to perform a software update that had something to do with the throttle but couldn’t give me details. They didn’t supply the paperwork from the technician to show what was actually performed because the Service Dept was closing by the time they called me to pick up the truck. Jumped on the Highway next to the dealership and within a mile I was able to replicate the same shudder. (going back tomorrow to get techs paperwork.)

SECOND DEALERSHIP: gets the truck tomorrow at 8am. Will post more when I get the truck back.

Took my truck to the Second Dealer yesterday at 8am and picked it up today at 5pm.

The shop foreman, Service Advisor and technician all road in truck and all three felt the shudder and acknowledged that the problem does exist. No work was done on the truck as they couldn’t find anything through Ford for a fix.

They said they have another F150 in the shop with similar issues. Service Advisor said they took a new PowerBoost off their lot onto the highway and it had the same shudder.

I was told to call the dealership back in two weeks. They said they were going to engage a Ford engineer to get his feedback on whether this is “normal” or whether or not my truck really has an issue. There is nothing “normal” about having a shudder in your brand new truck at highway speeds.

What happens if this breaks at 75 Mph? Should we feel safe ?

I’m taking my truck in again for a 3rd repair attempt as soon as either dealer can get me in. If not resolved I’ll follow the Lemon Law process in my state.

More to come

This is really discouraging as I keep reading about this on the Facebook groups as well. One guy was a Ford Tech at a dealership and his truck had this same issue. He ended up getting rid of the truck. Even a tech at Ford couldn't get it resolved. It's honestly the one thing holding me back from placing my order. I'm with you here. If nothing seems to resolve it within 2 weeks I'm ordering another Ram. I even have a Ford PCO in hand.

I hope they find a fix for you, but it seems baked into the truck. I just read a thread on Facebook recently talking about the same issue and the eventual answer by ford engineers was that there’s nothing wrong and to get used to it, because they all do it

Feb 9- still waiting to get back into the Second Dealership. This will be the third repair attempt. Appt schedule for 2/21.

FIRST DEALER: can’t get me in either. Said their transmission specialist quit again:oops:
They did finally provide the paperwork from their repair attempt. They reference TSB 21-2434. (See below).

Regardless their attempt did not resolve the problem.
Ford F-150 Transmission shudder 4497E669-C4BD-4BB5-A885-B58181575F4F

Have been driving a substantial amount the past two weeks, shudder is now more pronounced and steadily getting worse. I’ve had Ford trucks for almost 20 years so not a hater, but fellow owners I’m sincerely concerned with the lack of service and severity of the issue. Waiting a month between service appointments is just and additional headache fueling the frustration
