My son has a 2016 XL with standard mirrors and they are good
My 22 STX has standard mirrors and they suck
Almost impossible even with small boar never had trouble backing up a trailer before and I have a lot of large truck experience
I’m going try the cheap option and give the plastic snap on extension type a try from Amazon

Im obviously in the minority with my opinion.

I had tow mirrors on an XLT and did not like them-
1. No auto dimming so blinded when towing my boat in the dark and someone was behind me.
2. Manual fold (on XLT) which is a PIA when parking in a parking lot and not wanting to get them banged on.
3. Spotter mirror was pretty much useless in the dark backing up my boat down and unlit ramp.

I've since ditched the XLT and now have a Platinum with the standard mirrors. I find the standard mirrors serve me well especially since at the bottom they have that "dip" or whatever you call it vs going straight across. So they kind of have a spotting ability built in and yet do not have that way too far away perspective that I had with the tow mirrors.

I have a 2023 XLT Powerboost with standard mirrors. Bought clip ons from Amazon and helps a lot while towing.

Only ram I've driven had their tow mirrors and I thought those were great. My F150 doesn't have them. I do tow my wheeling truck on a trailer and for that usage they are fine. Thats simply becuase the truck is well inside the width of the trailer. However an RV type trailer, would recommend the tow mirrors.

I really like the tow mirrors, but didn't like the way they looked when I first got them. However, after a year with them, I actually like the way they look and now think the standard mirrors look undersized. ;)

First F-150 with tow mirrors and I will absolutely not own another f-150 or any other truck for that matter without the tow mirrors. You can see EVERYTHING around you. With the tow mirrors and BLIS you would be hard pressed not to know someone is in your blind spots, but you really don't have blind spots with the tow mirrors.

I appreciate that most reviews are good
Trying buy them you have to go to Ford and 6-$800 then which do need 4 pin connectors or whatever
Is you have a 2020 model everyone has aftermarket
Thanks again

Have had the tow mirrors on my 2013 F150 and now my 22 F150. Would never go back to standard mirrors. Absolutely love them and I have no blind spots. One of the best features is the blind spot mirror on the bottom when your parallel parking, you can see every curb. Love the way they look on the truck

I waffled on it and ended up buying a model without them because I was trying to be as conservative as possible on width as we have some tight back roads I drive frequently. I regret the decision almost every time I drive the truck. The standard mirrors are good enough (barely) but I really wish I had the added visibility of the tow mirrors.

On the ‘24 trucks, only the non-Powerboost configurations can get factory tow mirrors. It’s a pretty cheap option, really. But adding them after the fact to Lariat or higher trim is $1900 worth of parts. That kinda hurts.

I am sure this will stir up opposing opinions but looking for as objective answers as possible.

I haven’t had or driven an F150 since 2016. It had the standard mirrors for that generation and the visibility was great. I test drove a 14th gen with the standard mirrors and I thought the visibility was awful. I am coming from a Ram 1500 and before that a Silverado 1500 both with the standard mirrors.

I ended up ordering a 24 with the tow mirrors. I am not a huge fan of how they look but really need the function over the form. I do tow occasionally but have always been able to get by without towing mirrors. Just not sure these ones cut it. I think ford really dropped the ball on the standard mirrors. The older size was just right. The ones on the ram are perfect in my opinion.

Does anyone who has the standard mirrors wish they had towing or the other way around? Hopefully I can get some objective thoughts. Thanks!
I have tow mirrors and they are essential for me, because I sometimes drive across states with a good sized travel trailer which is 8.5' wide. Without tow mirrors I literally have to swerve to see what's next to me or coming up; total BS.

This is exactly how I feel. the tow mirrors look too big to me but the standard look too small. But hopefully they grow on me over time like they did for you.
