I'm looking to configure a truck and eventually get a topper. Never had either before. Can anyone let me know if any of these options improve/hinder rear visibility with a topper?

1. Electronic dimming rear view mirror vs manual flip
2. Rear privacy glass/electric defrost

I assume the defrost helps melt snow accumulating between the windows (or is this even an issue?). But does rear privacy glass/electronic dimming mirrors make it harder to see out back at night? Thanks for any advice on this!

We’re on or 4th truck and everyone one of them had a topper (cap). The defroster will not melt snow that gets trapped between the cab and the cap. I ordered the removable window option in the cap last time. Allows for for cleaning of the truck cab rear window.

Best advice is learn to back up with your mirrors as you may not always have a clear view through the cap. Cargo, frost or dirty rear cap window block your line of sight. Back up camera has made it a lot easier in newer trucks.
