Hey everyone,

I am trying to wire a police/fire scanner into my 2021 302a XLT and I can’t find the right fuse tap that will work with the passenger fuse box. I have order a couple off Amazon with no luck. They just won’t fit. I tried filing it down like in another forum said but still no luck.

Has anyone bought any fuse tap that work with it? If so, can you share?

Pigtail taps are the only way to go.

You don't need to file or force the tap in and risk damaging your fuse box receptacles.

But... it's important that you identify the "hot" (tap) side of the receptacle and that can be difficult since your meter probe often won't reach.

I take a pigtail fuse, short it so it blows and insert it to identify the hot side.

They're not cheap but it's worth the cost to avoid damaging your new truck.

I use the same one as the 400 watt inverter. Don't remember the fuse number, sorry. I used it because it is switched on when truck is started.

Edit: Just looked it up, #35 in the passenger side foot panel.
