I noticed that cold weather, near freezing or below, decreases my mileage as well.
Does anyone know what temperature starts to affect the battery performance/longevity?
I see my MPG fall from 24 to 22 once our overnight temps drop below 40F. Now that we're in the 20's overnight, it's down to about 20 MPG

I got my 21 KR Powerboost back in Feb of this year. I instantly put a Readylift 2” level and 295/65/20 tires on it. I completely understand this will bring the MPGs down from the marketed 24 MPG but I’ve never got above 20 MPG. Hell, I hardly get above 17 MPG. 90% of my driving is on a highway going about 70 MPG and I don’t tow anything. I called the dealer and they have no real advice and say that if there are no lights on then they can’t check to see if anything is wrong. Is anyone else getting 17/16 MPG in their Powerboost? It’s very disappointing.
Not sure what you expected. You lifted and went with bigger tires..... Which are most likely far heavier that stock.

I would think 17 MPG is about right.

Cold temps and winter mix gas will result in @ -4 mpg in my parts.

Show me a truck that isn’t mod’d and I’ll show you a hideous POS. That’s why these forums suck. Your response provided zero help and is annoying as hell.
Its a fact. You modded in ways that effect MPG. If you have a lifter truck with bigger tires, MPG should not be a concern.

Should be very helpful.

I have a 22 Powerboost and can only share my experience, which I documented in detail. I drove from Orange County to Santa Barbara area 3 times, same location, same gas station filled up before leaving and upon return, same conditions and same distance. (all of this is hand calculated and adjusted for tire size changes.

The Truck: 2022 Lariat Powerboost 501A
The Mods: Fox 2.0 Coilovers (2" Lift on the front), Method 17" wheels, BFG KO2, C Rating, 285/70 17's (51 lbs per tire vs the stock 275/65 18's (38lbs per tire)

Trip 1: Stock Truck at 70mph whenever possible (moderate traffic one way) = 24.0 mpg
Trip 2: Modded Truck, 70mph, light traffic = 20.2 mpg
Trip 3: Modded Truck, 65mph, light traffic = 22.56mpg

As you can see, 5mph makes a pretty big difference in MPG loss. I drove a short stint once at 80mph and watched the real-time fuel economy plummet. The main factor is going to be tire and wheel weight. I drove in Eco Mode the whole time, and I am happy to have a full-size truck as long as it gets better than 20mpg on road trips. 17mpg seems accurate for your mods considering driving style and conditions that may be different. If you want great mileage, drive the speed limit, stay off the boost, and trail brake early whenever possible.

2022 Platinum Powerboost BAP 4x4 with Pro Power onboard, max tow, B&O unleashed. Only option I didn’t add was FX4. Aftermarket just added Falken Wildpeaks. Think I did ok. I’m getting 20-24 MPG, Not planning the level kit, as the level takes our the aero dynamics that enable the additional mpg, and raises the LED light angle, and in doing so blinding other motorists.

For a truck to get 24 mpg, ANY TRUCK, even the Hybrid, weight and aero dynamics are crucial so there’s trade offs. I chose practicality over looks. All looks does, for the most part, is degrade the value, warranty, and MPG. IMO.

I’m writing this in the middle of an 1100 mile drive from Georgia to west Texas. When we left our house at 500 am this morning, it was 14 F. We drove ~150 miles to the Buc-ee’s near Birmingham at 75 mph on cruise in berry light traffic with the outside temperature ranging between 11F and 20F. Fuel economy by the computer was 17.2 mpg.
The next leg between Birmingham and the Mississippi River at the same 75 mph cruise, it got progressively warmer with temps reaching 40F by the time we stopped. Fuel economy on this approximately 310 mile leg was better at 18.5 mpg.
We just crossed the TX state line just west of Shreveport and temps have steadily been rising to 50F. The last 170 miles we’ve averaged 20.2 mpg with cruise set at 77-79 mph.

the last time we made this same trip in September, we averaged 21.2 mpg on the westbound leg and 22.1 on the return.

Its pretty clear temperature plays a significant role in the efficiency of the hybrid power In our trucks. I know lithium batteries for RVs for example usually have intelligent circuits to prevent them from charging when they are too cold to prevent them from damage. Is that what’s going on here? Are they limiting electric assist when it’s too cold in order to protect the battery? I did feel like when we were in the really cold stuff that I was seeing more turbo boost than usual when pulling up long grades, but I don’t know if that’s a valid observation.

My tuck is just short of 20 months old. Total - 26700 Km (16590 Miles) - overall MPG 17.5 US - 21.0 CDN. Keep record of all expenses with software package. All amounts are actual.

What tires came from the factory? Did you have the OEM tires on long enough to get a sense of the difference between those and the Wildpeaks?

I ask because I have ordered a set of Wildpeaks for my 2021 Lariat PB, which came with Goodyear Wranglers
