I totally agree with that. I just didn’t want to say anything and piss anybody off because everybody already thinks I’m the biggest player hater in the universe.

But if fuel economy in these trucks weren’t anything to consider these companies wouldn’t be talking so much about it when they’re trying to sell them.

I think I have the right to be upset when I’m getting dicked around. If you’re telling me this product is going to give me certain benefits and features and my purchase decision is made on that information provided, I should be able to bitch about it when those Benefits and features aren’t delivered.

when I’m driving like a wild man I don’t expect to get the best fuel economy. But when I’m trying to do everything I possibly can even sometimes driving unreasonably slow just to get the numbers promised and I still don’t, then what the heck.
This forum is for discussing all aspects of owning these trucks, good and bad, but too many fanboys on here feel personally attacked when someone has a legitimate complaint about their beloved brand. In any case, few things irritate me more than people who go around on forums policing the comments of other members to try to 'catch' them in something. Anyone who has the time and energy to spend on that nonsense seriously needs to get a life.

Over on Tacomaworld, you would think that it's a cult. Any constructive criticism, or even an innocent question is met by pages of reactions that would make Kim Jong-un proud to have them on his team.

I think the ecoboost engines take time to fully break in, so I suspect your fuel economy will continue to improve. Having owned 2 direct injected turbo vehicles in recent years, I noticed that fuel economy continued to improve well beyond 10,000 miles.

I just ordered a loaded 2021 XLT SuperCab with the 2.7 and payload package and I expect to average at least 23 mpg in my mostly highway commute. How you drive a turbo engine is the biggest factor though. Even occassional heavy throttle inputs will significantly increase fuel burn.
Here is my latest trip from Saranac Lake, NY to Erie, Pa. 22.8mpg. Includes any and all stops and quick bursts on interstate.
My truck is 3.5 eco crew cab 6.5 bed 3.55gears. 600lbs of dogs/humans/shoes/tools
Typically drove 65mph on interstate.
6,000 miles on ODO. Amsoil sig full syn in the pan. 91? Octane Sunoco/Mobile 1 gas in tank

3.5 EcoBoost with the 3.55 gears, Max Tow and FX4 packages. A shade over 700 miles in. I’m running 11.5 overall lifetime MPGS and 11.7 MPG for this tank which I have about 60 miles to empty on.

Not impressed so far, and am slightly worried with how dismal my fuel economy is right now. Still going to give it some time to break in, and am hopeful it will get better based off what many others have said.

Screw, 3.5 eco, 3.55, FX4 no mods accept for a Solid Fold 2.0 bed cover. Driving in town in normal mode to enjoy it not for mpgs but not an aggressive driver. Gas is 87 octane. After 2 tanks average 14.7 mpg calculated.

Damn, you are doing a lloootttt better than me. You’ve got equivalent of well over 800 km’s on there with more than a quarter tank left. I usually max out around 800 km’s per tank. And I got the big tank too ☹

A couple guys on here said that it should get better with time as the ecoboost needs more time to acclimate itslef so I’ll just keep waiting. But I actually am seeing slight improvement so I’ll report back once I reach 5k

I can only dream of 700 miles cod damn Bill that’s insane. All I really wanted was maybe 500. But if you’re getting that much then the 2.7 is trash or my truck is messed up.

Off topic, @Knickell has one of the most beautiful 2021’s around. Very tastefully done. I can stare at that thing all day. We need more pics brother. A whole post of just your truck.

I have about 4500km on my Supercrew 145" with 3.5 and 3.55 axles, and my mileage has averaged about 11.7 l/100km since new.

This morning I drove177 miles, about 40 of those are two lane 55mph roads, the rest was Highway with some construction but not much.

I kept the speed between 71-74 mph.

2.7l super crew, tonneau cover and 3.55 rear end.

I am very pleased!

Was able to squeeze 9.4L/100km out of mine on a recent trip, and that was through some mountain passes doing around 110-120km/h(68-75mph). I put eco mode on whenever I had the truck in cruise, although I don't think it made a while lot of a difference.
Second leg of the trip saw the milage come up to 10.8L/100km, but that was because there's some pretty long hillclimbs and much higher speeds 120-140km/h(75-87mph).

Return trip saw 11.8L/100km, but I had a heavier load, plus its mostly a hillclimb all the way up from sea level to 3600ft. Also ran regular on the return trip, whereas I ran premium on the trip down.

2.7L, 20" wheels, 3.55 rear end. No max tow or payload package.

Don't know if it's luck of the draw or what but this is my second tank of gas, from about 450 to 850 miles on the odo. Lariat 500a, 2.7, FX4, 3.55, Tow Tech, 1596 payload, so not too loaded. Have only driven in normal mode so far. Did punch it once, impressive. 87 octane. I am retired and generally not in a hurry, but I do drive the speed limits, or reasonably close. I'm happy. Going to the lake tomorrow with the pontoon (3300 lbs), so we'll see how that goes.

I’ve got about 26k km’s since April 2021 and it’s gotten worse. I’m getting about 750 km’s per tank(136L) and at almost $180/fill Amin starting to feel very sad.

It’s winter here but I don’t use the heater much and rarely use the 4H and I drive like grandpa so I don’t know what else to do.

This is an XLT with the 2.7 L ecoboost by the way.

How are you guys doing with your trucks and fuel??
