Anyone have a preference between raised or flat tailgate lettering? Can you state why you chose one over the other and what is a good brand to buy from.

I liked the raised because it provides some visual definition to the lettering. And it’s not really raised much above the F-150 indent. But I guess it’s really your preference.

Here’s before and after. I’d share the Amazon link but it no longer exists. 🤷‍♂️ Mine was $45 but after looking on Amazon real quick, I think you can get them for much cheaper now.

I was thinking raised, but went with just flat vinyl lettering. I was worried that the edges of the raised area may get dust and dirt in that area and be a pain to clean. Went flat black on carbonized gray. No pics of that part of my truck yet. Ordered off of Ebay.

I've got the raised letters on mine (flat black on carbonized grey). I've seen the flat decal versions, and I prefer the raised up close. From a distance they look pretty similar though.
Ordered from Amazon. Quality is good.

Good thread. Debating myself, leaning towards flats but can't seem to find them at a reasonable proce (not paying Etsy prices), and also a little concerned with putting them straight as @Doyouevenboost said. I definitely don't like the 3D ones, so if raised it'll have to be the "Straight" ones.

I went with vinyl. Tried the raised and it looked good but just felt the vinyl looked better. Also with vinyl you have some play to get them on straight as long as you keep it wet you can slide them around until your happy. With the raised ones once they are stuck that is it. If you don’t get them lined up either get new ones or live with it.

My concern with the raised is how they will fair in the Florida Sun. It chews up and spits out plastic.

Did the same for the same reasons. I bought mine off etsy. Flat black on rapid red.

I have the raised ones on my 2018. They are about 1/16'' thick, matte black on race red. No problems with dust or dirt, They wash easy. Picked them up on Amazon.

Ordered some new ones for my 2022 . Same color truck.

I went with raised American flag, on my white truck, I think the raised looks better, it has a lot more gloss then regular stickers. Application is easy, just make sure everything is clean.

I went with raised. I like the raised but only with the beveled edge. My first set was cheap and had square (non-beveled-edges) and looked as cheap as they were.
