The Truck : 2021 Lariat 502a Powerboost, Antimatter Blue 2x4 with 6.5 bed

This thread is going to be somewhat long, so I'll break it down with various pics and specs and feedback about all the details of each major item. First, here are the 'links' to my 'addon list' that are actually ON this truck.

1. Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires ($329/ea)

Shawn got me first, and then Alex got my initial offer (October 2020) approved and took over giving me weekly updates (every Monday) plus letting me know basically how the process worked, and were a total pleasure from start to finish. I found out I had cancer in Nov, and called into cancel the truck.. but as my prognosis improved they worked to make sure I had first option to keep it, at my price, when it arrived - knowing they could make far more money if I just cancelled. They were great in the beginning giving me my order number, and eventually my VIN then kept me up with the basics as did the links on this forum. Total pleasure from start to finish, couldn't rate them higher.

TIRES & RIMS

1. Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires
($329/ea)
275 /65 R20 126Q E1 BSW , 9" wide with a +10 offset (Stock is 275/60-20, 8.5w/+44)

3. RBP 94R Rims (Sexy Chrome with Black Strips, uncommon so better) ($1800)
9" wide rims with a +12 offset

As listed above, my truck is a 2x4 so clearance is just a little bit different than 4x4, but not much. The setup listed above makes for a 34.75 wide setup, which is pretty much the 'max' my truck can handle with the lift on. I get the smallest amount of rubbing when I take a sharp corner really tight, and if I was to do off-roading really bumpy, I'd prolly get more. The rubbing has to do with the fact I moved the tires out (+10 offset vs factory +44) and the size (from stock 33in diameter up to 34.5).

Without the leveling kit in the front, there's no way I could have upgraded the tires.
Pictured here are two sets of pics, both with the FACTORY tires (PVD Chrome Lariat, Goodyear) and my NEW tires (RBP Rims/Nitto Grapplers)

I haven't re-calibrated with FORScan just yet, but my initial testing shows my speedometer is just barely under 1 MPH off. (I'm going 1 MPH faster than dash says)

If you look closely, you can see the chrome HYBRID logo on the bottom-right of the tailgate, and the Chrome/Black USA Flag on the back window (left side)

BED COVER

Undercover Armorflex Tri-Fold Bed Cover
, has line-x top and is more durable that just about anything else w/5yr warranty, works with power tailgate and doesn't really leak ($1100)

Really happy with this bed, and the Line-X on the top is a major bonus. The rubber sides have 'the fold creases' in them, but it's because it's a 2-day old install... heat and time will cause it to normalize.

I have no issues with leaks (so far) as it's rained but not super-hard, and as you can see I have it set so it covers just over the tailgate (to help stop leaking and theft methods) but not enough to keep the tailgate from automatically opening on command.

Undercover Armorflex is made by the same parent company that makes the cheaper BAKFlip line, but other than that they aren't really related. This cover costs about $100 more than the BAK's, but totally worth it in my opinion.

INTERIOR

Don't sleep on the "Medium Graphite" on the Lariat. I know a lot of you young guys love 'black', but it looks far cheaper, holds ALL dirt, and is just black everywhere. Notice with the Graphite you get various levels of gray that blend in well and compliment one another with quality, and hide dirt far better.

My truck DOES have the work surface addon.

All seats (front and rear) are perforated (the zillion little holes), and I don't have the B&O Unleashed, just regular B&O. Because this is a PowerBoost, I do NOT have a converter under the back bench seat, as you can see. The weird thing you can't figure out is a set of latch-tools for the bed that came with the truck (plastic sealed on a cardboard base). I put them there so they wouldn't slide around.

At the tint shop one of the employees had a 2020 F150 Lariat, and he sat in mine and was like 'holy cow', and I asked him if it was really that different? He said 'come see', we sat in his - and yeah, wow. Biggest changes I saw right away were the more 'upright' shape of the dash made the inside cab seen almost twice as roomy, and the quality/craftmanship is lightyears difference. Of course he has the 8" screen (as 12" didn't exist yet), but even the layout of it AND the console (center) both felt very lacking and less detail.. esp. with all the new zone lighting and such. Huge differences.

High Quality for a Truck (Lariat).

PHONE MOUNT/HOLDER

Magnetic Mount Flexible Phone Holder ($18)

The wireless charger is over-rated. Get this sweet phone holder (magnetic), mount it on the side... and your leg never touches it. Add a 1-foot cable for direct connect and you're golden.

The mount comes with 2 different very thin metal plates that stick to the back of your phone (between phone and case if you have a case), allowing your phone to 'just stick' to the mount. With where I placed it, I can see phone at all times just to the right of my view of the steering wheel, and thanks to the 90-degree cable, it doesn't bump my leg - and I'm a big guy at 6'2" tall.

My phone isn't on the mount because I'm using it to take the picture... so there's that. ;)

The positives : Not blocking air vent, not blocking anything of regular use, between steeringwheel/cluster and 12" display, which is a place I'm often glancing to anyways... and it's 1-foot cord is perfect distance for plugging in down below. I also have a USB-C cord for it too as the truck has both USB-C and regular USB

HUSKY MATS

Love the Husky mats... in my Lariat I don't have rear-locking storage so it was just a simple 3-second install. Love the fact they're hard, but also a little soft and giving. They're also known to keep their 'black color' over time, which others apparently don't.

THE TINT

Prime XR Tin
t (Black, you want BLACK) all around, and 70% Prime XR Tint (clear) on windshield inside. Prime XR is 'the bomb' for tint in quality/durability/clear/never purples (~$600)

Not including pics here, because it's in all the other pictures... but if you go back and look, you'll see in the straight-on pic (front grill pic), you can see how the front windshild itself is slightly tinted (70%, legal amount in Texas). It's the pretty damn amazing for stopping glare and heat. Absolutely love it. Looks clear/normal from the inside.

The ceramic tint all-around was done at the legal Texas levels, with even the stock colored-glass rear windows (and back window) all getting tint placed on (55% I believe).

Yes, yours is on upside down, an easy mistake. Just unscrew/bolt it and flip it.

The gray interior looks really nice. I have been going back and forth with the gray and tan interior.
I honestly think of all the interiors it's best - because it has 'variance', but the least amount. If you're like me, and after a more 'classier' look than the 'sport' look.... then I HIGHLY recommend it.

But if you have a super-light exterior color like one of the whites... (Esp two-tone), I could see Baja being better (maybe).

I happen to think the contrasts of the King Ranch are ugly, and don't understand having one color panels, one color trim and one color dash - all in the same truck... which happens with the Baja... it's "too busy" and looks like a younger guy car to me. Granted, on certain colors the interior color change is far easier to swallow - but the graphite is so 'safe', has variance and just looks really classy to me.
