Truck went into shutdown mode on Friday night, we were having single digits and I finally put two and two together. Last time this happened, it was the same thing, single digit weather and truck went into shutdown mode. I had bought the cable to have a hard wired connection for my trickle, finally installed it on Saturday. Battery was down to 11.6 volts. Also hooked up a bluetooth battery monitor that logs the voltage, so I can keep track of what's going on. These trucks are power hungry when sitting.

Extreme cold and hot can do it per Ford.

I had this problem last night, I did run rock lights for about ~30mins. I’m going to charge it then reset the battery using the given steps above.

Just recharged mine to 100%. Dome lights came back as well as the radio staying on. I'll drive it home and see what the 4am start of the day brings me.

Well, since recharge.... All lights work as they should. Radio stays on when shut down, auto stop/start works again. Everything is as it should be since.
Still have an Appt on Wed next week for Ford to "test the battery". We'll see what that holds after that. My guess is they are going to disregard the caps shooting out of the top of the battery or the charge status on a battery after 20k miles and tell me nothing is wrong per ford's testing procedure.

I'd pay $184 to never have to discuss my truck with a service writer, or watch some kid drive off in it to HIDE it somewhere from my view, just to keep me on one side of the veil they create.

Or put another way, if the F150 gods said they offer a $200 deductible for every issue that pops up requiring service department attention, and that if paid the truck would magically be fixed, I'd SIGN UP!

So what is the go to battery on these trucks for an upgrade from factory? I may just do the upgrade and not fool with the dealer. I'm seen H8 floated around...

The battery tray can hold an H8 only if it does not have the (Powerboost?) sensor/isolator mounted on the firewall end of the tray.

Welp, dropped the truck off today and had them go ahead and do my oil change/tire rotation anyway while they were checking the battery.
Just got the call, it's confirmed a bad battery and replaced under warranty.
Hope the rest of you guys have the same success with your dealer.

So - started receiving that battery message after an over the air update - that's about the time my interior lights stopped working - doesn't matter if the button is pushed or not in the ceiling console. Had the battery tested by a Ford dealer - they said it was absolutely fine. The interior lights (floors) work fine when the truck is started and the lights are on - but they absolutely won't come on in more when you open a door at night. Funny thing - the center console light will if that is open...

I bet if you charge the battery, they all work.

Go for a 30 minute drive on the highway then come back and reset the BMS. I had the same issue and once I reset, everything was fine.

Thanks everyone - threw a charger on the battery for a few hours and then reset the BMS and everything is back to normal - not sure I care for this - clearly the truck can't keep the battery at a level needed to maintain basic systems...

Same worked for me. But still also failed the test at the dealership and they replaced it. So far, so good since then.

Just replaced my battery with an Interstate H8(49) 900CCA 1000CA, didn't have to modify the battery cable any to spread the extra width, you will need a new battery wrap. I bought a generic one off Amazon , cut and taped to fit. The hold down strap is no longer in the middle of the battery but not a problem. The battery box is full now. Taking a 10 hr drive in the morning, will post updates if my Auto Start/Stop begin to work again and if in the Sleep mode ever returns. Did also do a BMS reset.
