"System Off to Save Battery" message

This started happening today, when I turn off my truck, normally the radio would play for around 10 minutes or until I opened the door. I also noticed a few weeks ago my auto Stop-Start is disabled. I do have a Stop-Start Killer installed , but if I turn it off, the first time I stop the Start-Stop Icon pops up with a line through it. I put a charger on the battery and it was showing ~56%, have the charger on it now, will let it get up to full charge and check it again. Are these the signs of a dying battery or failing Control module, I have seen other post about.

Most likely a bad battery or less likely, a bad battery calibration.

Finishing letting it charge to 100%, still getting the message, also noticed I am seeing a message saying Saving F-150 once I get in and start the truck. The dome lights and zone lighting are also not coming on when I open the door. One other thing I saw on the App, it said my truck was in a "deep sleep" and the app couldn't communicate with the truck.

I had the same problem a couple weeks ago. The battery failed and was replaced under warranty.

I have read quite a few of these bad battery posts. With all the current draw on these new trucks maybe Ford should have installed dual batteries on the non PB.

If I'm not mistaken this is a problem even on the powerboosts. They I don't think the hybrid battery or the second smaller battery help in this case. I sometimes get a message a few days after it sitting that it is going into deep sleep mode and can't be controlled by fordpass anymore. Granted I don't drive much but my '17 would be fine for weeks. When I get that message I can't even unlock the truck with the doorhandles. I have to use the fob to unlock the truck.

That’s what I mean. It’s crazy it only last that long. A dual battery setup would double that time. Even a higher amp battery would help.

Here is the Saved Message I see when I crank the truck, and the Ford App. I plan to take it to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can look at it.

The dreaded “Deep Sleep Mode”. My former ‘21 had this happen several times. The battery was finally replaced and it never happened again.

I see this message a couple of times every day.

also I sit in the truck reading on the tablet for about 90 minutes in the morning at work in the parking lot. (me time)

with key on accessory, every 30 minutes.

also had issues with start/stop, but that turned out to be some solenoid inside the engine.

I don’t drive the pickup on long enough jaunts often enough to keep the battery fully charged (about 15miles at a time for the most part)

on a two week “checking batter voltage) daily, voltages hovered around 12.3——not fully charged at all
Hell, my ElCamino can stay parked with only radio memory going and it does not drop that low in 90 days.

currently in pickup with key on accessory and am on round two of cycling key to turn radio back on.

My truck has been giving me that message for over a year. I don’t drive it much. Just 3000 miles in a year and a half. Auto start stop hasn’t engaged in that same amount of time. Never had an issue.

Well after putting the truck on a charger yesterday and charging up from 56% up to 100% battery level last night the issue was still there. Today when I was heading out to lunch, everything seems back to normal. I really think these trucks need a larger alternator and higher capacity battery.

Do you have a dash cam hardwired? they drain the heck of out the battery if you have it sitted for a long-ish time
