I have a 2014 F-150 5.0 engine Supercab equipped with trailer package and Range E tires and use the truck a few times a summer to tow a 4500 lb. dry (probably 6000 lb. with water and cargo) camper. Shortly after I purchased the truck in 2014, I found that its Passenger P-rated tires were just too "squishy" (and in my view led to too much "white-knuckling") for towing my trailer and swapped them out for Range E tires -- best towing move I ever made with the heavier tires, now tows like a dream.
With the age of my truck and its current miles, in another year I may decide to get a different F-150, and again I'll equip it with Range E tires. However, with the astronomical price of new vehicles now, I may want to get a cheaper Regular Cab F-150 (with an approximate truck bed length of 6 rather than 8 feet) rather than a Supercab.
Just wondering, will the shorter wheelbase of the Regular Cab present any handling issues towing my 6000 lb. camper (as compared with a slightly longer wheelbase of a Supercab)?
