Why doesn't Ford just send the update 1.4 BC with OTA?
They are, I was one of the first to get it. Currently it looks like it is only going out to 2023s in the Early Access Program.

How can we verify the version we're on? I'd love to get this working on my '23 Platinum.

In lane repositioning and it will change lanes if you activate the blinker

If all your modules are updated, you can make a few Forscan changes yourself.
May want to ck on your subscription for sure.

Retired and not looking. The wife is looking for me.
It never ceases to amaze me the lengths that owners are willing to go to solve a problem or add options to an already existing truck. Also the lengths that participants in this forum will go to help others. My hat if off to all of you.

So far my 2021 has done a great job for me. I am too old and lazy and in general would never touch something like that. Plus my wife is working on me to clean up my language. I bought the extended warranties to protect myself down the road.

But the above is why this forum is so much fun and yet, educational at the same time. The practical application of knowledge.

I had the dealership perform all the module updates recently and then followed the Forscan changes provided by @rugedraw and I'm glad to report my F-150 now has a fully functional BC 1.4. It is a very nice upgrade from BC 1.0 hopefully Ford will continue to update BC with new features we can take advantage of.
did the dealer charge you for the module updates? mine says if they're not "necessary" they won't do them

Dealerships are just overworked and lazy. It takes time to do some of these updates. Ford should vastly improve the way they send out updates over the air. It should be on demand, if the owner requests it. Then we wouldn't need FDRS so much.

Totally agree. Those techs are in many cases too busy to sit most of a day or several hours baby sitting updates as they are not getting paid by Ford under any sort of reasonable rate to do that work. These updates to the customer should be seemless and if needed, a prompt to connect the battery w/a charger if it’s going to be protracted.

I judge work as productivity and spinning tires isn't being productive.

So will Ford now recognize your updates and continue to send new ones? Or will it still consider you as the old version and not push the new updates so you'll need to do them manually?

Also, y'all could make great money doing this for other trucks in your area. Anybody in the Midwest? I'm in Kansas and I'm programming incompetent but would love the features!

Yes, it's their updates you're installing, the same the dealers are happy to charge you $$$ to apply. The highest we've yet seen posted is ~$800. This is why many choose to do it themselves.

Not only does it change lanes for you, if you follow someone very long with your cruise set higher, it will notify you when it's clear to pass. I think you might need to be going like 20 mph slower for a certain amount of time. Nice
Lane centering is also much improved with 1.4.
I've never noticed this. I've had 1.4 for quite a while, but may be I am too impatient to wait for it to tell me it's clear to pass. How does it notify you when it's clear to pass?

Right on the screen where it tells you it's changing lanes.
