I'm wanting to get the stowage bed extender to put inside the bed for when my wife gets groceries they don't slide to front of bed. I want the stowage ones so they'll fold in and not get in way for normal bed use. I don't wanna pay the outrageous price from ford but can only find ones for up 15-21. On Amazon it days won't fit my truck it's a 23. Is there a difference in bed on the 23 or would that one fit. Has anyone successfully installed one in their 23 and it works as noted.

I'm looking to do the same, but for a 2024. I have a 2013 with the bed extender, but I plan to pass the truck on to my son once my new 2024 arrives. I plan on ordering one off of Amazon to see if it will fit before I go the official Ford parts route.

For the official 2022/20203 version (ML3Z-99286A40-B), the best online price I have found is at OnlineFordPartsCatalog, but as you said, the cost is pretty high (over $600). The same official Ford item for 2016-2020 (FL3Z-99286A40-C) is roughly half the cost, but still over $300.

There are several aftermarket options that are of similar build on Amazon for under $200 (here is one for $160), which might be an option for you. The photos look virtually identical to the one I have in my 2013. Plus, if you order via Amazon Prime, you can get a refund and free return shipping if it does not fit properly.

Let us know what you end up doing and good luck!

If you aren’t totally sold on the bed extender (if you don’t need that function), two ratcheting bars would be far cheaper and much more useful/customizable.

pair it with something like this as well for further organization.

If you have the Box Link (E Track) you can get something like this and make something for cheap.

I like those ideas but I really like the stowable so I can just tuck away when I need my bed and fold back out when I don't. I had one in cart of Amazon said 21-23 but I went this morning to buy it and it said unavailable and don't know if it'd be available again or not. Had the same replaces number as the $600 one on ford parts. I don't need it that bad to buy for that much. Lol.

My uncle installed his out of his 2016 F150 into his 2021 F150. Fit fine
Do you know if it just bolted right up and no special rigging needed. Worked like it should

I made it work with my 2016 extender on a 2023. I had to buy something at the hardware store to make it work, but I can't remember what. I'll try to recall and comment back. It was less than $10 I think.

I have the Ford Bed Divider to keep this from sliding around.

yeah but thats expensive too

OP, first and foremost, i have a 2022. My bed extender is the OEM ford one from a 2015-2020 F150.
It bolted up and works 100% haha
THE ONLY part that doesnt line up is the little drop pin lock thing which is only when the tail gate is down and you're using the extender. the tail gate has a small circle you're supposed to drill out and it doesnt line up with the 15-20
heres the kicker, IVE NEVER USED THAT PIN LOCK THING EVER!
The extender is heavy enough it doesnt bounce when ive used it. also, it folds and stores and flips to hold groceries.

also, try marketplace or craigslist. got mine for $50 :)

Adjustable shower rod is a cheap solution if all you want to do is keep lightweight "stuff" near the tailgate.

I'll probably never use it with tailgate down but if I do I wouldn't need the lock pin. Thanks for letting me know it'll work and I'll have to check those put see if i can save some money.
