Possibly, or you can try the easiest thing first. Reset the PCM. Disconnect *both terminals* at the battery for at least an hour then reconnect and drive the truck like normal and let it readapt. If the issue persists, I would take it to the dealer.22 platinum. My truck is sometimes sticking in 3rd gear until it reves to 5k.
Other times it skips 2nd. Is that usually resolved with a update?
My 2019 truck had the same problem along with occasional "clunky" shifts when jumping from 1st to 3rd, especially when cold. My dealer started by resetting the self learning and when that didn't work they ended up replacing the transmission "main valve control body" twice on it and it never resolved the issue. I think these transmissions are "the luck of the draw" since many owners back in 2019, 2020 claimed their transmissions were smooth as silk all the time. Now, with my 2022 truck, I am claiming mine is smooth as silk and here you are reporting yours is sticking in 3rd like my old one did. Good luck! (I solved my problem by trading my 2019 in on my current truck.) By the way, skipping 2nd is normal operation, it's just supposed to be a smooth skip; in tow-haul and sport modes it won't skip gears.22 platinum. Good morning. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into your gear shift concern on my end?22 platinum. My truck is sometimes sticking in 3rd gear until it reves to 5k.

You running in Sport mode when that happens? When I’m in Sport, mine holds 3rd for a long time when not giving it all the beans…22 platinum. My truck is sometimes sticking in 3rd gear until it reves to 5k.

My truck does this exact same thing. It presents itself like a slipping clutch, but sometimes (especially when deeper into the throttle) it doesn't do it. Curious to know what you/the dealer find out.. Once it shifts into 3rd, the Rpm’s go up and down and back up slightly. Also feels like a little bit of a bog
Just thought I'd update this, and keep the thread alive until I or someone else has a resolution. After paying more attention to this 3rd gear behavior, it seems more like the PCM is pulling power, or closing the throttle, rather than a slipping clutch. in 3rd, the engine speed will dip or hesitate right around 2200-2800 RPM. Not sure now if this is transmission related, or something to do with the engine. If I'm on it (like 75% throttle or more) it doesn't do this. I suppose it could be a sticking valve as called out in the attached TSB as well.My truck does this exact same thing. The service advisor at Castle Rock Ford told me that they replace 3-4 of these transmissions every week. Apparently the 10R80 is a consumable like brake pads and wiper blades. He said it's a total crap shoot if the new one even fixes the issues. Some work fine, others are just as shyte as the one they remove.Little update here. I got a message from the dealer that they are replacing the transmission. I asked for details why and service said they’ll let me know when the tech does his report. So I will post that later when acquired.
Did they tell you how long it takes? My transmission is doing the same thing, but Im hesitant to bring it back to the dealer because I can't be without the truck for weeks at a timeGod, I hope it fixes it. Took it to Fort Collins Ken Garff.
They said 5-7 days for transmission to come in. Then install. Never gave me a completed date.Did they tell you how long it takes? My transmission is doing the same thing, but Im hesitant to bring it back to the dealer because I can't be without the truck for weeks at a time
