Sport mode all wheel drive?

I have a 21 poweboost 4x4 xl. I've seen people saying when switched into sport mode it automatically puts your truck in all wheen drive. Is this true for a base model xl as well?

Unfortunately only Lariat and up trucks get the AWD transfer case. Sport uses 4A. Since non 4A transfer cases only have locked 4x4 options, it can only use 2Hi for sport mode

I have an XLT and sport mode does not put the truck in 4WD.

It basically becomes a tire cooking factory

Well, you could. You could also do a burnout in reverse, but I wouldn’t suggest it.

I mean, whats the plan after the launch? Switch back to 2H with WOT?

An elsd would be a nice upgrade over the locker so it could be used more in day to day driving
