anyone know why when i select sport mode it switches to 4A mode on transfer case?
my super duty did not do that,

seems weird

So you get better traction and don’t just light up the back tires. I really appreciate it coming from an AWD car where I could just pin it out of a right turn and not worry about it. (It still liked to step out on left turns if I talked to it just right though 😜)

Technology and power advancements. with 500 ft-lbs of torque and 4.69 1st gear ratio if you were left in 2wd you'd either roast the tire(s) or force the computer to use traction control and reduce power way down...which is anti-sport.

Once in Sport mode you can always chose to drop it back to 2wd, but it's not the preferred choice when you have the 4A option available. XL and XLT trucks will go into 2wd for Sport mode. Since they do not have 4A transfer cases.
