I know the thread is here somewhere but I'm not finding it quickly! It is a REALLY long thread as I recall.Yeah, I think I saw a thread around here which goes over that process.
Was it actually 30 hours actively poking this thing to get it going, or the start/wait/check timeline for this took that long?
I'm not afraid to muck around with my cars so I may go down this route.
Do you have a thread I can look at?
30 hours--- No not all was active. That's just start to finish. 10am on a Friday to about 5pm Sat. I left one update go overnight. Seems like the estimate on that update was 5 hours. MOST are not that long. Lots of engine on/off and ACC on/off. DO have a clean formatted USB handy. Some updates are via the USB port. There were some module updates that then had to be redone after other updates. BUT... I can say (as a software guy) the FDRS was really clear and walked me through each step. DO have a battery assist (there is an Amazon link in here to the recommended one to keep the battery up). I kinda setup an office with my laptop inside my shop for the 30 hours and it really was painless. I DID use Jesse's expertise a few times (messaged him) when something didn't seem right. Jesse assured me that even if I bricked it (didn't even come close) it was recoverable. I'm really happy with the effort vs results.
