My truck shows 2.7.3 as latest update, FordPass shows 2.7.1. I just had my truck at the dealer for 5 days and they claimed to have updated but still shows the same and no bluecruise. What is the latest update version & am I going crazy?
Vin is 1FTFW1ED9MFB00420

thanks in advance

I see they did some updates to modules that are conducive with BlueCruise, but they did not update your IPC which is an important one. Your OTA dashboard shows 2.7.3 failed and that update is for the IPC. That update takes hours which is probably why the didn't do it.

The thing is, once a dealer (or owner) updates the truck manually, the OTA updates don't matter anymore. Your dealer did some updates that pertain to 2.8.1 and 2.8.3, but they didn't update the IPC that is part of 2.7.3. This means that your OTA's are now completely out of whack. I was stuck on 2.7.3 for months and got no help from several dealers. I gave up and with the help of this forum, I updated the truck myself.

Hopefully someone with FDRS can chime in and see if the IPC update is still pending, but it has to be if you didn't get it OTA and your vehicle history doesn't show the dealer did it.

Dealer claimed that the ipc updated this morning and it takes a few days for everything to register properly, not sure if I buy that but will give it a week. Thanks for the response

IMO: Your dealer sits on a throne of lies. I did the IPC update myself and it showed in PTS right away. Hopefully I'm wrong.

They didn’t. It’s not even available for your truck. That’s the problem.

you aren’t I looked at his truck.

his truck is a shit show. His doesn’t even have the ipc update available so the only way to save him is to side load it now. So he’ll have to decide if he wants to fix it or not..

I can fix it but he will need the mongoose and allow me to remote in and get it started.
6 hours of updating is what his truck needs and if he doesn’t he may never have it working

So even worse since I brought it to the dealer is what I’m getting out of this and permanently screwed?

I can help you.. I can fix it 100%. It will require an investment by you though.. ABout $600.

Youll need to buy a Mongoose cable and a charger. Also a FDRS license. We can fix it. i haev fixed many that the dealer didnt or couldnt. SO there is hope. It only depends on what you want to do. If you want to invest the money we can have it fixed very quickly. I understand if you dont want to. The problem is the 21G01 has expired now and dealers have no obligation now to do it. So at this point there is no other option.

If you want to let me know.

Would this get OTA back on track as well? Does it mess with warranty? I can also go to a different dealer.

It does not affect warranty. I got lucky and found a used Mongoose on ebay for $250 including tax and shipping. Check the forums for people selling one. I know there was someone in the Mach E forums selling one for $400 a few weeks ago when I found mine......maybe they still have it.

Jesse is a magician with these things. Unfortunately, you can't count on Ford dealers or corporate for help, because they simply (and sadly) don't know what they're doing.

Edit: Your truck is not worse; they just didn't fix the problem. All they did was install some of the updates that you would be able to install yourself if you get the Mongoose and FDRS license, but they didn't fix the root of the problem. They probably didn't even see there was a problem to begin with.

It sure seems like this should be covered by the factory warranty. I asked customer service and they could not give me a valid answer.
I gave up on getting Blue Cruise. If it happens great and if not, everything else is working well with the truck (other than the insulation recall parts availability), so I don’t think I’ll mess with it.

It was, but most dealers were incapable or unwilling to do it. Also, the campaign that covered it under warranty expired today. Anyone wanting it going forward will have to do it themselves. Ford really dropped the ball on this.
