I suspect it is mine. Need to find time to get it up and investigate.

Don't we all?

But, this one would have appeared after 20 years without incident.

Not saying it isn't the case. But, unlikely. ?

How do you know it's from your truck?

In all seriousness it does look like the bolts ford uses. However, it also looks pretty worn. Not only the chips in the coating and spots of rust but the bolt edges look rounded as if it were removed and re-installed a few times or by someone with not quite the right size socket.

I might still get it checked out but my guess is its an older bolt.

Maybe the bolt got dropped into a body panel or frame crevice during assembly and they couldn't find it, so they installed another one. This may have been rattling around somewhere and finally fell out as you turned into your driveway. (?).

I guess it depends on how much traffic you get on your street. Maybe the trash truck or pickers or someone else driving through and it bounced ? The thing looks a bit old.

Definitely looks like an older bolt, looks like someone elses ride was falling apart in or around your driveway.

That looks like the bolts that I removed when I ditched the stock "skid plate". Not sure that's the only place they use them, but pretty sure it's the same one.

off topic a little bit, but I used to ride a motorcycle a lot, and while sitting at intersections I was always amazed at the number of spark plugs laying in the street. always thought how does someone not notice a spark plug missing.!!!
